As we move into this new year, we believe God has asked us to speak to the leaders of His Church and to call for great repentance in His house. Over the next few months as we move forward, our e-news letters will focus mostly on what we believe God is saying regarding His Church, and the Five-fold ministry. God is wanting to speak to His Church, and we are merely a voice crying out in obedience. He loves His Church and is committed to see her become glorious in the earth. Therefore, correction must come!
We believe God wants to release a Holy Fear again in the house of God, one that will call the leaders in His house to give an account and to tremble once again in His presence. We should tremble knowing that all of us as leaders will stand before Him one day and give an account of our lives and the stewardship of His house. 2 Cor. 5:10; James 3:1
Church Leaders Are Held Accountable
Some say Charles G. Finney's life and writings influenced more people toward
revival and reformation than any other preacher of the last century. He
recognized the important role the Church, especially the pulpits – the
Five-fold ministry – plays in the shaping of our culture and nation. A portion
of his classic sermon "Decay of Conscience" says it very well.
THE DECAY OF CONSCIENCE
December 4, 1873 – Charles G. Finney.
"Brethren, our preaching will bear its legitimate fruits.
If immorality prevails in the land, the fault is ours in a great degree.
If there is a decay of conscience, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If the public press lacks moral discrimination, the pulpit is responsible for
it.
If the church is degenerate and worldly, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If the world loses its interest in religion, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If Satan rules in our halls of legislation, the pulpit is responsible for it.
If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government
are ready to fall away, the pulpit is responsible for it.
Let us not ignore this fact, my dear brethren; but let us lay it to heart, and
be thoroughly awake to our responsibility in respect to the morals of this
nation."
Wow, what powerful truth! May these words challenge and penetrate deep the heart of today's Five-fold ministers. We must stand up, live holy, and speak the truth – for we will all be held accountable.
In an article called "The Pulpit Is Responsible" Dave Welch begun with:: "For thousands of years, prophets, priests and pastors have served as the voice of spiritual, moral, cultural and governmental accountability to the laws and sovereignty of God. The clergy during the colonial era were known as the 'Black Regiment' and were feared by the British for their role in birthing the fire of freedom."
EXCERPT FROM UPCOMING BOOK (UNEDITED VERSION):
What In The World...?
When I look at the condition of our culture, and when I look at the condition
of our churches, I have to ask myself the question…WHAT IN THE WORLD IS BEING
PREACHED FROM THE PULPITS OF AMERICA?
This one thing I know for certain is God will hold us – the Five-Fold Ministry
– accountable for the condition of His house, and ultimately the impact we had
or did not have on our culture, and our nation.
When We Stand Before God...?
We must ask ourselves the question. "When I stand before a Holy God to
give an account of my stewardship of His flock, what will He say to me?"
He will not care about our popularity, how many books we sold, how big our church or houses were, who we did or didn't know. What He will care about and ask us is, what did we do with His House, His people, and how did we influence our nation and the nations of the world – for eternity. Were we good stewards over the things He entrusted to our care?
Did we build HIS Church, or our own kingdoms?
Did we send many souls to hell because we did not speak the truth?
Did we water down the Word of God and refuse to talk about sin?
Did we spend all our time teaching them how to succeed in this world, instead
of keeping their eyes on the things of God and eternity?
Did we teach them to be salt and light, or did we teach them to compromise?
Did we tell them Jesus is soft and fluffy like a puppy, or that He's the Lord
of Glory?
Did we give them meat to eat or just cotton candy and sweets?
Did we cause them to become prey to the enemy, or did we equip them to stand?
Did we equip them to do the work of the ministry, or teach them to chase the
American dream?
Did we refuse to confront them and just wink at their sin?
Did we really build God's church, or is it weak and frail because of us?
Did we speak the truth in Love? It takes real love to speak the truth,
especially when it is not popular!
Did we love the people enough to tell them the uncompromising truth?
What will God say to you, as a leader in His house?
It's Time For An Internal Investigation
For a true Great Awakening to take place in our nation, it must begin with the
Leaders in God's house. We believe God will be moving by His Spirit, conducting
a deep internal investigation in His house, and removing everything that is
standing in His way. It is time for us to judge ourselves and for judgment to
begin in the house of God (1 Peter 4:17)! May our hearts and lives be fully
devoted to God and His purposes, no matter what the cost.
"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season;
reprove, rebuke,
exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." 2 Tim. 4:2.
