Love and Correction

Mr. Somers,

I just read your article- "Fix Or Replace, Judgment of the Church". I wanted to tell you that it is a right on article of this time when so many seem stuck in fear of speaking truth that is in their hearts. I myself, was temporarily frozen in fear of many truths I knew in my heart, stuck in fear that acknowledging the truth was casting wicked judgment- that I myself would be judged back for. What this did, however, was lock me in some weird, fearful complacency mode. Somehow the devil has tricked many into believing that "love" means overlooking everything and blurring our eyes to truth in fear we will be in eternal danger of judgment for speaking truth.

Anyway, one night, months ago- God woke me up and said this to me (your article confirms).. "Jenni- you are getting pretty good at loving- you are giving them to me for CORRECTION." This statement really woke me up to the truth that God is not OK with the bad that is going on in this world- with tyrant church leaders- or with the whimsical ones that preach that anything goes. God simply is still God and still stands for something- and the definition of love is profound in that it does include correction as another wondrous facet of love- he loves us enough to discipline us- not he loves us so much he refuses to.

Anyway.. thought I would share this with you.. Our loving each other definitely includes bringing others to Him for correction- it is not condemning- but healing and from a loving heart that we want to see others healed of their sin that destroys their call and their life.

Blessings,

Jenni
