The Nations Lift Up Their Voice Like a Flood, But the Lord is Mightier! (Psalm 93)
Most of you that pray for Israel, would have listened to our Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech, at the beginning of the week. A lot of us here in Israel believe that he stood much stronger than previous Prime Ministers of the State of Israel on some of the "pressing" issues concerning the Palestinian/Israel conflict. I have found it interesting as I have read through Judges, and in particular the story of Samson, to discover a picture of Israel in this story of Samson. Let me share it with you :
Like Samson the Israeli government comes under immense pressure from the nations to do what is un-Biblical to give in to demands for land concessions and to give up our inheritance.
Samson was appointed and anointed by the God of Israel- Israel was and is appointed and anointed by the God of Israel
Samson was extremely powerful and strong - Israel is a very powerful and strong nation
Samson was seduced and lured to tell the secret of his strength and reveal the answer to a riddle. He gave in under the pressure and lost his power to function as led by God.
Israel is being seduced and lured by the nations, especially at this time, by the United States of America to strip her using her own power (to cut our "locks" off) and Godly rights and to make intelligent and wise decisions to protect her citizens and land. Israel has come under the control of the USA and in her weakened condition, causes her to become prey to her enemies.
In Judges, it speaks about the wife of Samson trying to get him to reveal the meaning of the riddle. It says she persisted for seven days and on the seventh days it says Samson gave in because she pressed him so much (Judges 14:17) Then along came Delilah a few years later. She was asked also to entice Samson to reveal where his strength came from. She too persisted to get an answer and find the secret. It says when she pestered him daily with her words and pressed him, that he became so wearied out, that he told her, he gave in. (Judges 16:16) Is this not a picture of Israel today and the USA in particular, that daily pester our Prime Minister and press him daily to do what they say..... and then because of the pressure he becomes wearied and gives in ..... they continue to cut our "locks" off.
I was watching national news a few nights ago and they were interviewing one of the politicians and asking him his thoughts on the speech and the relationship with the new USA government . I was surprised to hear the words "pressing" and "bow down" come from the lips of this politician. He said the "intimacy" with the White house and Israel is not there any more and that the USA are "pressing" and causing our Prime Minister to "bow down" to their demands. I believe this is a Delilah spirit at work and we need to pray against this spirit. We all know the end story of Samson, he had a mighty victory. In time as his "locks" grew back, so did his strength, but it went un-noticed by the enemy and those
around about him.
Israel's strength is and will be restored un-noticed, they will not see the power and the strength that our God is going to give us,(they will be the ones who will be deluded in thinking that Israel is weak) It will be hidden and it will be released at the appointed time, Israel will have a mighty victory. However, unlike Samson who died, ..... Am Israel Chai!! (the People of Israel Live!) - Israel will live .......... Let Your power o God of Israel, be demonstrated through our government
