Secrets Of The Secret Place
Mark Kaphaem
Entering the Secret Place is all about waiting.
When we think of waiting we think of time.
But this waiting has nothing to do with time.
This waiting has to do with expectancy.
Would you wait for someone if you never expected them to show up?
Would you go to meet with someone if you knew they were not going to be there?
This is true of entering the Secret place of God.
We do not go there with the thought that I will just hang out for a while, if God shows up great, if not, oh well.
Or, I will read my Bible, listen to some worship music, say some prayers and if God shows up great, if not, at least I did my part.
If you really want to commune with God in the Secret place, go there with expectancy, go there in faith believing. Know that God wants to meet with you way more then you want to meet with God.
But also know this. God knows all about you. He know every hair on your head. Every desire in your heart. Every word you have said and every thought that has passed through your mind. God knows all about you, but you know almost nothing about God. So when we come to Him, we come to Him on His terms. We do not define Him, He defines us.
So when you pray, come expecting to meet with Him. Know that He longs to meet with you. But do not define the way the encounter must take place.
Wait before Him with expectancy. Watch for the small cloud the size of a hand. He comes in many ways.
Holy Spirit is there to guide you and teach you. Ask Him to help. To open your eyes, your ears, your mind and your heart.
If you begin to feel His presence, His peace, thank Him. Tell Him you enjoy Him and that you desire more of Him.
If you feel a impression on your heart or mind ask Him about it.
If you feel drawn to a scripture read it, chew on it, digest it. Ask Holy Spirit to bring it to life for you.
Waiting on the Lord is all about expectancy and faith. Knowing He longs to meet with us more than we could ever even imagine wanting to meet with Him. But that He comes on His terms. He reveals Himself on His terms. So we wait. But we do not wait in vain. We do not wait with a plan B. We wait knowing we have a Father in heaven who loves to be with us. We wait knowing the Son makes intercession for us. We wait know the Holy Spirit is our helper and our guide. We wait on a living God who is present with us and delights is revealing Himself to us.
Lord God we Honor You. Come reveal Yourself to us. Change us in Your Glory.
We wait on You today.
