Dear saints

Recently, in worship, I saw a river approaching very fast and it was burning with fire. The outpouring is one of both fire and Spirit-empowered water of the Word in a way never before seen in church as we know it.

Dan 7:10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him

Jer 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? says the LORD; and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

Then yesterday the Lord began to sing through me inviting the Bride to drink freely of the waters reserved and stored up for this time because He is releasing fresh living waters never before tasted, from deep within the Rock.

I don’t know how many of you are aware of the events that are unfolding in Florida, USA in this week. During a revival meeting led by Todd Bentley, here has been an unprecedented outpouring of healings and miracles, including scars disappearing and birth deformities being made whole. The presence of the Lord is so strong that at times, no-one knows what to do. What was intended to be a short campaign has turned into an ever-increasing manifestation of the glory of God. People watching on the internet have been healed and saints all over the world are being impacted by this move of the Spirit.

While watching the meeting on 17th April via the internet (www.freshfire.ca ) in Lakeland, Florida with evangelist Todd Bentley, the Spirit of the Lord spoke a message through me to the Body of Christ and His Bride. He is doing a new thing in the earth. We have not experienced this before. Rivers are springing up in the desert, deep hidden reserves of the revelation of Christ and His glory are being released from within the Rock and the latter rain is being released from heaven simultaneously. So ask for rain in the time of latter rain! Ask for a baptism of fire because He makes His messengers flames of fire!. He is bringing forth His Bride with cries of 'Grace, Grace' and there shall be a double portion of recompense released to His Beloved in this day!

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ

As soon as I released the prophetic Word about the river of fire, it began to work in my own heart – as the Word says in Malachi 3, He comes suddenly as a Refiner’s Fire and a Fuller’s soap. I don’t know if any of you have this experience but often when the Lord speaks through me or to me and I think I understand what He is saying, only to discover later that I did not really see clearly at all. We do see in part and prophesy in part.

A subscriber, Kim, wrote to me and pointed out that the river of fire came from a volcano and suddenly this made sense to me because this is the hidden reserve of the Word that is stored beneath the surface of the Rock and as the earth is shaken, the rocks split and the molten rock is released as coals of fire, a river of fire covering the earth. The Lord did say that never again would He judge the earth with water, but would use fire to judge every man’s works. His word is a fire. It is very significant that a volcano, which has been silent for 400 years, has erupted this week in Columbia. God’s people were in Egypt for 400 years and then at the appointed time, He brought judgment on the slave-masters and the world system of Egypt which enslaved His people.

Even as this fire began to burn within my own heart, I saw dross come to the surface as the words I had spoken judged me. He also instructed me to close down my website because there will never be a harvest from my life unless the grain of wheat, chaff (or dross) and all, falls to the ground and dies. He is coming to burn the chaff with unquenchable fire and that which is true wheat will be gathered into His storehouse. He has come to cleanse His threshing floor (the place where the Bride lies at His feet).

Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water to repentance. But He who comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire; Mat 3:12 whose fan is in His hand, and He will cleanse His floor and gather His wheat into the storehouse; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Christ is the foundation and the firmament which holds up the waters of the heavenly realm.

1Co 3:11 For any other foundation can no one lay than the one being laid, who is Jesus Christ.

1Co 3:12 And if anyone builds on this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble, 1Co 3:13 each one's work shall be revealed. For the Day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try each one's work as to what kind it is. 1Co 3:14 If anyone's work which he built remains, he shall receive a reward. 1Co 3:15 If anyone's work shall be burned up, he shall suffer loss. But he shall be saved, yet so as by fire.

If there is anything that I have built with silver or gold or precious stones on the foundation of Christ, it will survive the fire. Only He truly knows the real nature of our building materials, for we build our ministries using the knowledge and understanding of the Word we have at our disposal at the time.

I will therefore not be releasing any further newsletters or articles from Fresh Oil Releases in its present form. Should God choose to resurrect it after the fire has done its work, I believe it will be in a different form altogether for Paul tells us:

1Co 15:37 And what you sow, you do not sow the body that is going to be, but a bare grain (perhaps of wheat or of some of the rest). 1Co 15:38 And God gives it a body as it has pleased Him, and to each of the seeds its own body.

1Co 15:40 There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. But the glory of the heavenly is truly different, and that of the earthly different

I want to thank all of you so much for the support and encouragement you have given me over the years. Should you wish to unsubscribe at this point, please feel free to do so. However, when the Lord is finished His auditing of my spiritual ledger, and I understand what comes next, I will notify the remaining members on the list what, if anything, will be happening from then on.

He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion in the day of Christ.

Grace and peace to you all in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Revealing or Reflecting - Part One

Recently I began to see that the creation account in Genesis 1 contains a parallel to the dealings of the Lord with His Church and His people at this time. We read in 1 Peter 4:17 that judgment must begin with the house of God before He deals with the rest of the world. When a judge passes a judgment, he does it by speaking a word. In the same way, as judgment proceeds with the house of God, it is initiated by God speaking. The psalmist tells us:

Psa 119:130 The entrance of Your Word gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

This is referring to a spoken word as opposed to a written word. As God presides over His Church and observes its state, He is moved to release a spoken word that will restore her to her intended state.

Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The phrase ‘without form’ means ‘desolate, in confusion’ and ‘void’ means ‘an indistinguishable ruin’. From the outward appearance the church looks like a mess. She is earthly and fleshly. There is conflicting doctrine and enmity between brothers. There is idolatry and compromise and uncleanness. . Because the church is in this state, God begins to move in order to bring form and order where previously chaos had reigned. The word ‘darkness’ used here means ‘to hide or conceal’. It seems there is almost a dark cloak which has been flung over the face of the church in order to conceal her true identity. Yet now the seven-fold Spirit of God is brooding over the face of these waters which have obscured the church’s contours

Restoration of order is a process which has definite steps. The first thing God does in His restoration process is to say, “Let there be light”. This is the spoken Word which cannot return void but accomplishes the purpose for which it was sent. Now we must understand the difference between natural and spiritual light in order to fully grasp what God is busy doing. The church has largely been functioning by natural light. She has judged and operated by the sight of her natural eyes and ears. It is this reliance on the natural senses which has led to a church filled with fleshly ways, a church that looks very similar to the world.

Natural light is composed of seven different wavelengths, as is seen in a rainbow with its seven colors. When light hits an object some wavelengths of light are absorbed and others are reflected. It is the reflected rays of light which we see with our eyes; for eg. A tomato reflects the red wavelengths of light and absorbs the other six colors. Glass appears colorless because it allows all the wavelengths of light to pass through it. So we see that the natural world which we observe daily is visible to our eyes because of the process of absorption and reflection.

Spiritual light, the light of the sevenfold Holy Spirit, operates differently. When God introduces light in our lives, rather than reflecting, it reveals what we previously have not been able to see. It shows us the hidden things. Jesus said:

Mar 4:22 For there is nothing hidden which shall not be revealed; nor became covered, but that it might come to the light.

When God speaks and says ‘let there be light’ at this time, He does it in order to reveal what has been hidden. He brings revelation in order to expose the works of darkness which are operating from behind the scenes in order to keep the church in a powerless and compromised state. John tells us after receiving the revelation of Christ:

1Jo 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

The church is supposed to be the light of the world, displaying the life and character of God. However, if there is darkness on the face of the deep, she is unable to fulfill her calling. Jesus also warns:

Mat 6:23 ….If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

So we see that there is a kind of darkness that masquerades as light. Paul mentions this when he warns people:

2Co 11:13 For such ones are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. Did not even Satan marvelously transform himself into an angel of light? Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.

How did satan transform himself into an angel of light? He used the principles of natural light. By reflecting the light and absorbing none of it, satan appears to the natural eye to be a being full of light. However, within is deep darkness. The darkness that is on the face of the deep in the church at this time is masquerading as light. The church has embraced doctrines introduced by workers of satan who have looked like ministers of righteousness. These teachings have appeared to full of light but are not. This is the same mistake Eve made when she used her natural sight to determine the caliber of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil! As a result, She who is supposed to be the Light of the world is now without form and void.

This is why the church desperately needs the light of the sevenfold Holy Spirit. He brings knowledge to replace our spiritual ignorance, revelation of truth so we can learn what is evil and what is good, counsel in order to bring deliverance, wisdom from above to direct our paths, might to break every yoke of the enemy and restoration of the fear of the Lord.

So at this time, God is busy unveiling the hidden things. He is taking off the covers, both in order to expose hidden un-repented sin and to point out areas where the enemy has been squatting.

Gen 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

What He is also doing by increasing the amount of spiritual light is unveiling tares amongst the wheat. This can only happen in the fullness of time, just before harvest-time. Suddenly it is becoming alarmingly clear that some who have been considered wheat up to this point, are in fact propagating doctrines of demons. The understanding and revelation being released by the Spirit now is causing a dividing line to be drawn between light and darkness. The word ‘divided’ in verse 4 means ‘to distinguish, to make a distinction between’. In other words, where there was chaos and mixture and confusion, God begins to separate and bring order, grouping like with like.

This is not a naturally occurring process as is the case with natural light. When we switch a light on, darkness automatically retreats. However, when God introduces spiritual light, the hiding place of darkness is revealed and exposed. It does not have an opportunity to retreat before it is seen for what it really is! Then God makes a distinction between what is real light and what is darkness masquerading as light.

Jesus, the Light of the world did this when He dealt with the Pharisees. Outwardly they appeared spiritual, saying and doing seemingly godly things. To the natural eye, they were children of light. However, Jesus called them whitewashed tombs – appearing white on the outside but death and darkness was reigning within. Jesus did not judge by the sight of his natural eyes or the hearing of his natural ears, but with righteousness and justice, after hearing the judgment of the Father. The Pharisees, in contrast, operated according to the principles of reflection – they displayed the outward letter of the Law but had no spiritual light or revelation within. In God’s judgment of His house, those who appear as messengers of righteousness but inwardly are ravening wolves, will be exposed and it will be distinctly seen who is of the darkness and who is of the light.

Joh 3:20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

The next thing God does is to name the darkness and the light.

Gen 1:5 And God called the light, Day. And He called the darkness, Night.

The reason God is doing this revealing and separating work is in order to identify those who are His. He writes His name upon our foreheads, designating protection from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole earth.

1Th 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

It is time for Christians to live as sons of the light. When the Spirit of God brings revelation at this time of areas that need dealing with in our lives, we must not harden our hearts because this is to refuse the light of God entrance. Then there is only left to us the option of pretending to be a child of light using the principles of natural light and reflection, displaying outwardly godly behavior, yet inwardly being overtaken by darkness.

Eph 5:5 For you know this, that no fornicator, or unclean person, or covetous one (who is an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the children of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light

The time is coming when God is going to reveal the contents of men’s’ hearts and the outward shows of spirituality will be useless then. We must live a life worthy of the calling we have received.

1Co 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall each one have praise of God.

In Hosea 6 there is described a three day process during which God’s people return to Him.

Hos 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has smitten, and he will bind us up. Hos 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Hos 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

This is often quoted by followers of Third-Day teachings, speaking of a time of blessing and latter rain. However, on close examination, the process of tearing and smiting comes on the first day and the prophet explains that this is necessary in order to bring healing. Here is another parallel of the first day of creation, where God is rebuking and disciplining His people with the express purpose of restoring them to wholeness. God disciplines through His Word.

Heb 12:5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons, "My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by Him; Heb 12:6 for whom the Lord loves He chastens, and He scourges every son whom He receives."

The Word that God is releasing over His chaotic church, both personally and corporately, at this time is a chastening corrective word, a word to separate light from darkness within us, so that we may truly be called sons of the Day and of the Light.

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

Hosea 6 says after two days He will revive us. So this indicates that the second day in God’s corrective process also involves chastening. Let us look at the account in Genesis 1.

Gen 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

Here another spoken Word is released; another judgment is delivered to the house of God. Just as God dealt with mixture, separating true light from false and calling it what it really was, so now he deals with mixture in the waters. Waters represent teaching or doctrine. Doctrines are formed from revelation received. They are the products of the darkness which is on the face of the deep. God is not a God of mixture but of purity. He will not tolerate doctrines of man and demons masquerading as the Truth indefinitely. In this next step of the restorative process of His church, He releases a judgment which results in a division being placed between the waters in the church. The word ‘firmament’ means ‘a solid extended surface or base’. In other words this firmament had structure and strength in order to hold up the waters above it.

Remember that God has already introduced enough light or revelation in order to see clearly if one is living as a child of the Day. The waters below represent earthly or fleshly teachings, those which have their origin either in the soul of man or in the kingdom of darkness. Before God ordains a division between these and the heavenly waters, mixture exists and the church is awash with varied and alien teachings interspersed with Truth. John the Baptist explained that there were two types of revelation:

Joh 3:31 He who comes from above is above all; he who is from the earth is earthly and speaks from the earth. He who comes from Heaven is above all

God is dealing with His church and declares that the firmament will separate the teachings originating from above with those emanating from below. They will be poles apart and it will not be possible to confuse them any longer. The firmament is a foundation on which the waters above rest. Paul tells us that the only foundation that is real is Jesus Christ:

1Co 3:11 For any other foundation can no one lay than the one being laid, who is Jesus Christ.

All heavenly revelation has its foundation in Christ. All of the treasures of heavenly wisdom and insight are found in Christ. The waters below have their origin in the earthly wisdom described in James 4:

Jam 3:15 This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

The wisdom and waters that are below the firmament preach another Jesus, one who is sensual and concerned with wealth and comfort, who glosses over sin and puts Self on the throne.

2Co 11:3 But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve in his craftiness, so your thoughts should be corrupted from the simplicity due to Christ. 2Co 11:4 For if, indeed, the one coming proclaims another Jesus, whom we have not proclaimed, or if you receive another spirit, which you did not receive, or another gospel, which you never accepted, you might well endure these .

These waters puff the church up with supposed spiritual knowledge instead of building her up in Christ and giving no glory to the flesh. As God deals correctively with us personally in this area, His Spirit begins to point out the difference between error masquerading as truth and the real plumbline of Truth which is Christ. It is sometimes a painful encounter as we come face to face with fleshly fruits within us. He calls us to live according to revealed Truth that we are seated in heavenly places with Christ.

Col 3:1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God. Col 3:2 Be mindful of things above, not on things on the earth.

If we look at the verses preceding the three-day process in Hosea 6, we find the reason why God had to deal with His people. They had been going after other gods and practicing idolatry and had brought forth ‘strange children’ as a result. The word ‘strange’ here means ‘profane’ and these children represent the doctrines which have been brought forth by God’s people as a result of their adulterous relationship with other gods, including the god of mammon.

This is why judgment has to begin at the house of God. To parade profane teachings before the world and declare them to be fathered by God is unacceptable. It is to call evil good. Disciplinary judgments are declared necessary by an angry father when He sees the behavior of those who bear His Name.

Hos 5:14 For I will be to Ephraim as a lion, and as a strong lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear and go away. I will take away, and none shall rescue him. Hos 5:15 I will go; I will return to My place until they confess their guilt and seek My face; in their affliction they will seek Me diligently.

God is in the process of shaking the heavens and the earth with the sword of His mouth, until the things that cannot be shaken, remain. Beloved, if there is mixture within you, allow the Word of the Lord entrance in order to separate the waters below from the waters above and choose to be found in Christ in heavenly places, far above the earthly waters.

Revealing or Reflecting - Part Two
Christine Beadsworth
Apr 19, 2008

There is a very interesting verse in Isaiah which indicates that in this creative restorative process paralleled by Genesis 1, God uses His servants, those who have been prepared and purified for such a time as this:

Isa 51:16 And I have put My Words in your mouth, and I have covered you in the shadow of My hand, in order that I may plant the heavens and lay the foundations of the earth, and say to Zion, You are My people.

How does this happen? Those who are resting in Christ, knowing nothing else but Christ and Him crucified, are dwelling in heavenly places, part of the great cloud of witnesses. When God pours out the latter rain, it comes from the clouds. Through His set-apart prepared vessels, the Lord releases anointed words like a sword:

Isa 49:2 And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, and made Me a polished shaft. He has hidden Me in His quiver

In Job, God’s righteous servant, we see a type of these golden vessels:

Job 29:22 After my words they did not go on; and my speech dropped on them. And they waited for me like the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

The latter rain of God’s counsel causes men to be silent because it confounds the wisdom of the wise. It comes from the Spirit of Counsel which is one of the seven Spirits of God mentioned in Revelation. Those who dwell in heavenly places are part of the city which is above. They do not walk by the light of their own understanding or fleshly wisdom.

Rev 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they might shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

The sun was designated to provide light for the earth, for those who walk by natural light and their five senses, relying on their fleshly minds. Those who are part of the New Jerusalem above walk by the light of the Lamb, who has seven eyes, symbolizing the seven spirits of God.

It is important to note that Hosea 6 tells us that only on the third day does the latter rain come. So this indicates that the latter rain is withheld or stored in the heavens until the appointed time of release. There are many vessels of gold who have been prepared in secret, waiting for the time of release. God speaks to Job about His storehouses for rain and snow and hail and he says this:

Job 38:30 The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

This reminds me of the stone that sealed the tomb of Jesus until the third day and then he came forth in resurrection power. These servants, full of the waters of heavenly revelation, are hid ‘as with a stone’ until the appointed time of release of the latter rain upon the earth on the third day. Then the thunder of God’s voice will be heard through His vessels and the lightnings of His revelation light will bring a plentiful rain upon the earth and bring the harvest to completion.

On the third day, the Lord commands again and the waters are drawn back exposing the earth they have been covering. Once these fleshly waters are together in one place, they no longer obscure the nakedness of the flesh and the grains of sand who are the sons of Abraham by faith are now able to receive the rain that falls from heaven. On the third day God deals with the part of His church which is covered by the fleshly waters of compromise. He sends a Word that draws back these waters of error. The Message puts it like this:

Hos 6:4 "What am I to do with you, Ephraim? What do I make of you, Judah? Your declarations of love last no longer than morning mist and predawn dew. That's why I use prophets to shake you to attention, why my words cut you to the quick: To wake you up to my judgment blazing like light. I'm after love that lasts, not more religion. I want you to know GOD, not go to more prayer meetings.

God desires intimacy and relationship with His beloved, not religious forms and habits.

Once the waters of the sea are drawn back, the sand is exposed. These are those of the seed of Abraham who are still living somewhat fleshly lives, as a result of having been covered by the waters below. God commands the earth to bring forth grass, herbs and fruit trees, whose seed was within themselves. Paul tells us we are born of an incorruptible seed

1Pe 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living Word of God, and abiding forever.

However for that seed to bring forth fruit, it needs rain to fall continuously throughout the growing season. On the third day, Hosea tells us we will dwell before His face:

Pro 16:15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain.

As God commands the latter rain to fall, it causes the seed of Christ to spring up and bring forth fruit according to its kind. The latter rain falling on the sea has no effect on those who are filled with darkness:

Isa 57:20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, which cannot rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt.

Jud 1:11 Woe to them! For they went the way of Cain, and gave themselves up to the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah. These are sunken rocks in your love feasts, feasting together with you; feeding themselves without fear; waterless clouds being carried about by winds; fruitless autumn trees, having died twice, having been plucked up by the roots; wild waves of the sea foaming up their shames; wandering stars for whom blackness of darkness has been kept forever.

Note that these so-called clouds hold no water and have no fruit at the time of harvest. They are imposters, having an appearance of righteousness but denying the power thereof!

The purpose of the latter rain is to bring the harvest to completion – to bring in those who respond to the gospel and to bring to maturity the wheat which is already growing. God’s intended purpose for us is that we radiate the light of God in a dark world.

Phi 2:15 so that you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation. Among these you shine as lights in the world, holding forth the Word of Life…

His intention for us is demonstrated on the fourth day of creation and mentioned in Daniel:

Dan 12:3 And those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the sky; and those who turn many to righteousness shall shine as the stars forever and ever.

Although God introduced light to the earth on the first day, He only created the sun, moon and stars on the fourth day. Then He assigned them their tasks:

Gen 1:16 And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night, and the stars also. Gen 1:17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth, Gen 1:18 and to rule over the day and over the night; and to divide between the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

Interestingly, the sun is also a star and emits light because there are nuclear reactions taking place within it constantly. Stars are made from dust (as are we!) and stars differ from one another in the amount of light they emit. However they all produce light. Jesus is the Light of the world who came to earth four thousand years after the beginning of creation. The moon however, only reflects the light of the sun. It has no ability to produce light within itself but gives light at night by bouncing off the sun’s rays. The lesser light rules the darkness – this is a picture of satan who also operates in the heavenly realm but only by using the process of reflection. He has no light within himself and can only appear to be filled with light in order to deceive. This is why it is important to make sure we are children of the Day, that we are born of that incorruptible seed of Christ.

1Co 15:45 And so it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul," the last Adam was a life-giving Spirit.

As sons of God we have the ability not merely to reflect light and life but to give light and life because Christ, the Life-Giver is within us. This is accomplished in the same way light came in Genesis 1 – through the power of a Word spoken by God through our mouths. It takes time for particles of dust to be transformed into a star which radiates in the heavens and the process happens away from the eyes of man. We are transformed by the renewing of our minds, by the power of the Word of God working within us.

Only when it is dark, are the stars unveiled. They shine according to the measure of the revelation of Christ which is forged within their earthen vessels. When darkness covers the earth the stars manifest.

Isa 60:1 Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of Jehovah has risen on you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but the Lord shall rise on you, and His glory shall be seen on you. And the nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

Jesus said a time was coming on the earth when darkness would prevail for a season:

Joh 9:4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me, while it is day. Night comes when no man can work.

The darker it gets, the more clearly the stars can be seen. God promised Abraham that his seed would be as the stars of the heavens. At a time when it seems the enemy is rampaging, God’s promise to Abraham is fulfilled. The word ‘star’ means ‘brothers, numerous progeny’.

Rom 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers.

Jesus, the Lamb Who lights the heavenly city, walked on this earth and rightly divided the waters of truth from error. Seated at the right hand of God, He is busy conforming us to His image. We have this treasure in our earthen vessels.

2Co 4:6 For it is God who said, "Out of darkness Light shall shine;" who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

This ‘new creation’ is done through the same revealing and dividing process occurring in Genesis 1. This is how He brings many sons to glory.

Heb 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

So we must not lose heart as we endure the fiery trials. They are for the purpose of turning a clump of dust particles into a star:

Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Rom 8:19 For the earnest expectation of creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God

The manifestation or revealing of the sons of God takes place as the surroundings get darker and darker. This is why God is undertaking His corrective dealings with His Church. We must be clearly recognized as children of the Day,

Rom 13:12 …therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

Let us walk becomingly, as in the day; not in carousing and drinking; not in co-habitation and lustful acts; not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not take thought beforehand for the lusts of the flesh.

The Lord Jesus Christ is our armor of light; He is the firmament, the solid foundation which separates the doctrines of man and fleshly error prevailing in the harlot religious system from the True Word of Life contained in the waters above. Let us be found seated in heavenly places, placing the full weight of our faith in Christ, being firmly rooted and grounded in Him and experiencing a Sabbath rest from the religious labors of the flesh, part of that great cloud-company who releases the heavy latter rain.
