Flood

The last several days have been a little weary. I am so in love with God and He is certainly so faithful to me, and it pleases me to know I am pleasing Him. I get distressed if I think in some way I have hurt Him or let Him down.
So, I have been praying a lot and had some spiritual warfare going on, but... this morning just before I got up... I was between waking and sleep. It was like I was outside in a place not familiar to me at all. It reminded me of being near a creek, or a spring perhaps. I just remember it being bright and cool. There was vegetation, a rock with water running over it or something, because it was wet looking. But I saw in big white, bulky letters the word FLOOD. Like if you stenciled letters.
Anyway, as I saw this I began to converse with the Lord. So the conversation was as such:
I don't understand Lord, what this means. If it is a prophetic word for a national calamity, how can it be when flooding is already being experienced? The prophetic word of warning would come before the event and not after it.
As I thought on this and continued to commune there was something else that came. It was about Esther (the Jewish woman in the book of Esther), and this is what I heard.
Esther is a type, or symbol for the church. What she had was the adoration of King Xerxes. He loved her above all the women that passed before him. When he would look at her he would get weak in the knees.
She, in turn, loved her people and represented them. After her fast she appeared before the king and he held his scepter out to her. This meant his favor was extended to her, also life was extended to her as well. In his disfavor he could have had her killed for coming to him at an inopportune time. If this would have happened, she would have died and her people destroyed.
So, this is what I am thinking...the way the king looked at Esther with eyes of love is how God looks at the Church. He has extended his scepter of life and favor to her, because of his enormous and generous love. Esther is the church. Esther loved her people, enough to fast and appear before the king without being summoned by him.
She represents who we are today. The great love the king reflected towards her and the great love she displayed for her people is a true and valuable love story. As splintered as the church appears today, underneath remains the kingdom of God. Her duty (the church) is still to show the love and concern of Esther (as she had for her people). No matter the circumstances, the misunderstandings, the trials, no matter how the rest of the world views her it does not change the king's issue for her. The scepter is still extended today...over the church is favor and life.
Over Esther was the king's love, over the Jewish people was Esther's love. Over them all was the love of God.
I have talked to a few of my friends and it appears amongst us that the flood is something spiritual coming from God for the church. A cleansing if you will. Many exploiters may come under fire again. There is still a decree issued by the King for the church (Esther) to fulfill its function in the latter days. She was made for such a time as this.
