Requiem
By

[NOTE: This dream was posted on March 22, 1998. It is being posted again, revised and updated, in honor of Pope John Paul II’s passing away in Rome on April 2, 2005 at the age of 84. Born Karol Wojtyla in humble conditions on May 18, 1920 in Poland, he became head of the Catholic Church in October 1978 at age 58.]
The environment in this dream was black.1 There was not a hint of indoors or outdoors, or of any light. Large choirs alternately materialized in the midst of this blackness. Choir members were adult men and women of different heights and ages. Their complexions were mixed and everyone had dark hair. Each choir was closely grouped together as they stood on assembled platforms. Each choir also wore identical black robes with white collars, and sang acappella,2 chanting the same slow, haunting, somber melody. I could not distinguish what language they sang. In sequence, a choir would fade out after it had chanted for a while and another choir would appear in its place, blending in continuity with perfect melody pitch. I had a strong and distinct impression that these choirs sang a requiem.3 Throughout this endless chanting drama there seemed to be no obvious distinction about each choir, yet these choirs were different from each other.4
It was a dream of endless observation and listening. Upon awakening I continued to hear the choirs’ deathly chanting echoing in my spirit. This vivid dream deeply affected and left me depressed in spirit as I grieved throughout the day. (It was s-o-o-o real.) This dream is also a powerful and foreboding omen. So many choirs’ endless deathly chanting signifies that a prominent death is imminent. The intriguing question is, whose death?
Incredibly, while surfing through TV channels the
following evening, I came across a large choir singing a Latin (requiem?)
mass acappella. The men wore black tuxedos and the
women wore long black dresses with white collars. They sang a contemporary
style mass, and some of the selected chants could have quickly tuned most
audiences out. Part of this requiem mass was sung in contrasting pitches of
many sharps and flats in the music scales. It was not only grievous to the ear,
but to my soul as well.
One particular chant seemed like a
wail. It became apparent to me that the Holy Spirit was confirming the previous
night’s dream. Since this program was a prerecorded telecast from a cathedral
in Poland, a prominent figure whose death could be highly considered would be a
frail Pope John Paul II. Should he be the one in question, many nations would
truly mourn his loss. History will record this pope to have been a truly
beloved and dedicated servant of God as well as a strong and imposing
historical figure who made an enormous spiritual and political impact in
the world during the twentieth century.
Without doubt, much will be written and countless commentary voiced regarding this particular pope’s legacy, more than any other pope in history. As a former Catholic, my personal opinion is that the papal reign of Pope John Paul II will be recorded in the pages of history as the Catholic Church’s finest hour. Assuredly, countless choirs throughout the world will chant numerous requiem masses upon his death.
FOOTNOTES
1) Black signifies sin, death, famine.
2) Without music accompaniment.
3) Webster’s Dictionary defines requiem as "A solemn chant (a dirge; a
lament; deathly march) for the repose (peace; rest) of the
dead."
4) The choirs portray nations.

THE PROPHECIES OF ST. MALACHAY
[A brief outline of the last ten popes]

The last three remaining popes are:
The Labor of the Son. JOHN PAUL II. 1978-Present. John Paul II is the most traveled Pope in history. He has circled the globe numerous times, preaching to huge audiences everywhere he goes. Even though he was once shot, he has not seemed to slow down. He has recently written a book which has enjoyed a large circulation. Like the sun which never ceases to labor and provides light daily, this Pope has been incessant. John Paul II was born on May 18, 1920. On that date in the morning there was a near total eclipse of the sun over Europe.

Peter the Roman
[NOTE: Some Biblical scholars seem to conclude that the last Pope, Peter the Roman, will be the False Prophet of Rev.13:11-15 (the second beast) who is described as having “two horns like a lamb," (a religious leader). He supposedly will be the Antichrist’s prophet. Therefore, the counterfeit trinity will be Satan, Antichrist and False Prophet.]
