Parakeet Prophecy

"God Used A Donkey, A Rooster And Now My Pet 'Parakeet' Is Beginning To 'The' Word Of The Lord! ... God Is Anointing Animals Once Again!" Job 12:7,8.

Job 12: 7,8. "But ask now the beasts and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: 8. Or speak to the earth and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

Of all the words in the vocabulary that you can teach a parakeet to say, my son taught our parakeet to say two words... 'come here'. Our parakeet, named Skywalker, says continually those two words as clear as a bell... 'Come here! Come here!'

Since that bird moved into our house, I have to sit beside that bird cage in my chair where I study the word and pray. Recently I have heard the voice of the Lord speak to me through that parakeet... "Come here! Come here!" The King James interpretation is ( "Come unto Me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." )

I am tempted to start taking my parakeet to meetings and put the microphone up to its beak and let him give the prophetic word for the hour! And then give the altar invitation! (smile)

I was reminded once again through this prophetic parakeet why God called me with a fresh call five years ago. The Lord said. "Bill, I am not calling you to churches or to people, I am calling you to Me. And out of your time spent with Me will come forth what I want to do through you! I am not calling you to work for Me but to be with Me so I can work through you!"

At least one time in the last five years I have made my greatest mistake in following Jesus. I fell in love with my ministry more than Him. When that happened the Lord did me a great big favor and came down and personally hindered my ministry to get me back. He shut doors to ministry and the phone stopped ringing, meaning there were no invitations to minister anywhere for the next three months! God even had to prove to me and my family that He alone was our source of provision and not churches, people or even our ministry. If you want to know if you have a ministry from the Lord, just take a step back away from it for a time and if the ministry dies, it was 'your' ministry. But if it continues without you it is God's.

God spoke to me during this time... "Bill, I can actually do more without you than I can with you! Any questions? Your ministry has become your dream. But you alone are My dream come true... I enjoy just being with you. Come to Me!"

My ministry actually took off without me during those three months. I got unusual phone calls that God was using me through my tapes being played in church services when I had never left the house. My mother called and said, "Bill, I just saw you on TV. They replayed a tape from 10 years ago in Pittsburgh!" I am convinced God must prove to us that He can bear more fruit in our ministries when we spend more time with Him. I am convinced that He makes it all happen so He can end up being with us more and more as we are weaned from our ministry and even our 'prophetic words' spoken to us, to be in His presence and to get to know the 'author' of our prophetic words!

One morning during this three month sabbatical I was walking to my prayer room passing by our bay window that was filled with beautiful flowers called Irises. They were in full bloom and shouting with color and glory. As I walked past them, I heard the Lord whisper to me. "Bill, I want you to sit down on the sofa and behold the flowers." As I did, I found myself mesmerized by their beauty and started to say their name out loud... "Iris, Iris, and then out came, "I Rest!" It's the first time a flower ever preached to me. I kept gazing upon their beauty and studied them. I couldn't find one flower that looked like it was struggling. I couldn't find one flower that looked worried. Have you ever seen a flower that looked worried? ( unless you don't water it! ) These flowers were just being and growing into what God had called them to be with no struggle, no sweat and no worry! They even looked happy!

The Lord spoke through those Irises saying. "Bill, I am calling My people to rest in Me and believe what I have called them to become will come to pass in their lives. There is a rest to them that believe. They not only must believe in Me but believe 'Me' to bring to pass what I have spoken unto them. I am the faithful one who has called them who will also do it!"

I sensed that God got so excited with me just being with Him alone apart from ministry that I sensed Him speaking to the angels concerning my ministry... "Go and multiply Bill's ministry in the earth while I enjoy his presence with Me that he might learn when he takes time off to be with Me, his ministry will take off bearing much fruit. My ministry is still multiplying from that encounter of being with the Lord those three months. But recently God had to use a parakeet to get my attention again. And I believe the Lord is perhaps speaking to you also as I write this article. I can hear my parakeet chirping in the background. I believe the Lord is prophesying through Skywalker perhaps to the whole world... "Come Here! Come Here! Come Here!"

When God has to use a parakeet to prophesy to me, I better listen.

"I am going to take some time to go be in the presence of the One who takes care of the birds and flowers and ordains them to minister to us! ... How about you?"

"Come here to hear!"
