Double Blessing

Recently the Lord has been speaking very clearly to my wife and I that “The Double Is In.” Just over two weeks ago I traveled to Irvine, California. to minister at The Eagle’s Nest, which is a great church pastored by Dr. Gary Greenwald. While there Pastor Gary blessed me with a new and very expensive laptop computer, which he had just purchased on a ministry trip in Malaysia. We were in great need of a new computer because our office computer crashed two months earlier due to severe computer viruses. A friend with computer repair skills was able to save our important documents before the computer completely shut down, but the problem was so severe that after four hours of work on it he still couldn’t fix it. I had given this computer up for dead and due to the fact that it was already six years old, had decided that it was non-repairable. Because of this my wife and I were reduced to carrying ministry paperwork, notes, and other office products to the local library everyday in order to use their computers to complete our work. We thanked God for the public library, while at the same time it was a difficult task to do this on a daily basis. The very day that Pastor Gary gave me the new laptop computer, I received a phone call from a good friend who had taken my old, non-working office computer to a friend he knew that was a computer technician. He called me to let me know that my computer had been completely repaired and that it was now better then new. Not only was it repaired and running great but also it had all of the new software installed on it. Now I have two outstanding computers, one for my office and one for when I’m on the go. The Lord blessed me with double.

Two days later following this experience with the computers, I was ministering in Whittier, CA. at a Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International dinner banquet. After sharing my testimony I prayed and prophesied over everyone present in the meeting. After I completed this time of ministry, a Senior Pastor was quickened by the Spirit and he looked at me and said, “You have asked God for a certain amount of money, God said He is going to double it!” In my heart I was aware of the sincere request that I had made to God regarding a specific financial petition. After these meetings my wife, daughter, and myself returned to our home in Henderson, Nevada, where we live and pastor a new and growing church called, “The City of Lights Church.” Once back home I began to pray and ask God if I was correctly hearing from Him regarding the prophetic declaration that, “The Double Is In.”

I set aside time to pray and seek God, however all I could sense was disappointment. It seemed as if the enemy was trying to steal my hope in an effort to convince me that the previous events with the two computers that were given to me, and the receiving of a prophetic word, were just mere coincidences. As I continued to pray in tongues the discouragement seemed to increase even more than before. As a Believer I know we are not supposed to be led by our feelings, but rather we are to be led by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. After three hours of praying in tongues I felt as if I had gotten nowhere with God. At that time I simply said, “Lord, I have some other business that I must attend to now, I have to leave for now.” As I began to rise up from my position of kneeling in prayer, I thought I would make one more attempt to connect with God. Although I was still greatly discouraged, I took hold of my Bible and placed it before me. I said, “Lord, I don’t even know where to look, or what I’m looking for,” and having said that I sat my Bible down and got ready to leave to catch an appointment. However, when I sat my Bible down it fell open and a specific verse seemed to lift off the page and grab my eyes. The verse said:

For your shame you shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.”

(Isaiah 61:7)

Well, as you can imagine that living verse of scripture put me over the top and I know in my heart that, “The Double Is In.”

Yesterday my wife Kelly and I met one of our church married couples for lunch at the mall. We were there to celebrate the husband’s birthday. Before lunch my wife spent some time walking around the mall and noticed there were big, huge signs hung all around the mall that said, “The Double Is In.” Each large sign was advertising the need to purchase either two pairs of shoes, or hats, scarves, and other types of products. Kelly came back to the lunch table to have me come and see these large signs. They were all over the mall. The Lord is clearly speaking through secular advertising to bring confirmation to His directives.

Some reading this may be wanting more than just double. You may be thinking in terms of exponential increase. I believe great increase is at hand for the body of Christ, but we must not despise the day of small beginnings. The double will actually carry us into the greater purpose and destiny that God has for us. For instance, Paul the apostle sailed from the island of Malta to his ultimate destination of standing before Caesar in Rome. He made this journey towards destiny aboard an Alexandrian ship that had a carved Gemini for its figurehead: “the Heavenly Twins.” (Acts 28:11) Here we see the double revealed through the two twin brothers named Castor and Pollux. I believe God is saying that “the double” is our means of transportation towards the greater purposes of God.

As you receive this word into your heart, be looking for and expecting “the double” to come to you in many forms, such as:

Double Blessings, Double Finances

Double Healings, Double Salvations

And Double the Goodness of God!

Be Doubly Blessed in your walk with Him,
