Nigerian Hebrews In The End-Time Revival
Paul Ekemezie
Right from the early 90s and up to this decade, some reputable evangelists from Europe and America have severally said in Nigeria that the whole world is waiting for Nigeria. They said that Nigeria would play a major role in God’s end time program. I was reliably informed that early in 2002 an American evangelist, while ministering in an Assemblies of God Church in an eastern Nigerian village, said, "Very soon somebody from this area will begin to perform great miracles. But he is not here."
Going through some prophecies posted on some web sites, I have been able to see prophecies that at least indicate that Africa has some important role to play in the current move of God. Nigeria happens to be so important in Africa that if Africa will play any role, Nigeria must have a dominant share. Following are extracts from some prophecies.
From "Things to come" by Michele Perry
We turned and we were in Africa:
Here I saw chains and pestilence, famine and drought, disease and fighting among clans but in the midst of such was an outpouring of the Lord’s provision and grace…. And an outpouring of worship especially among the youth and children… I saw a children’s army dancing with banners, twirling to the music God put in their very marrow… and I began to weep. It was so beautiful… and they were able to teach the world a new dimension of warfare through worship and an understanding of the adoption of God.
From Prophecy 1711 on Raymond Aguilera’s website (
www.prophecy.org).Anoint Africa and see the wonders of God. The stage is set, the players have their role. The battles will not begin until you anoint the ground in the Continent of Africa. Remember the rising sun, remember the job that I have given you. It might not seem important to you now, but the Key to success is Anointing Africa. The timetable has been set, the players have their roles. Come, and do the will of God, for the Day of the Rising Sun is before you. You have the Key even though you do not see it. The Key that opens the Lock to the Things of God.

I called Carl to pray about the upcoming Africa Mission Trip. During this prayer the Lord showed me a beautiful light blue sky with many, many large white clouds. As I watched these soft bright white clouds they transformed into - Pure White Curtains. Then I saw the Curtains move to the right and some to the left and in the middle there appeared a large lit White Candle. When I say a Large Lit Candle, I mean one as Large as the New York Empire State Building. The Candle just seemed to float in the air, then I heard a loud Powerful Voice say, "My Son, Jesus Christ is Coming!"
This vision showed Carl and I how important this Mission Trip was.
From Chad Taylor (www.consumingfire.com)
Africa awake to your destiny! For in you is a prophetic seed that is about to break the ground of persecution. From you is coming a tree of righteousness and soundness. Its leaves will be for a shelter for the nations of the earth. For in you is a prophetic seed; in you is a cornerstone to My last days Church, a pillar in My temple and a living stone.
The question now is, why Africa and why Nigeria? One could simply answer with Ex. 33:19, that God will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. But the answer will not be correct, because what God is doing right now is fulfilment of previous promises (prophecies). He is not in the business of starting a new thing at random. Are there prophecies in the Bible that connect Africa with end-time revival? Not directly, any way. The truth is that the end-time revival is actually world Hebrew revival. This is another way of saying that the real purpose of the end-time revival is to lead the Hebrews back to God.
Rom 11:15—For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
Jer 31:1—"At that time," declares the LORD, "I will be the God of all the clans of Israel, and they will be my people."
The LORD will be the God of all the clans of Israel, not only Judah and Benjamin (Jews—John 4:22). God knows all Israelites, even though they are hidden in different parts of the world. They will eventually be picked off the four quarters of the world and be reassembled in the land of Israel.
Isa. 11:11-12—In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the sea.
12He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.
It is clear, from Isa. 11:11, that there are some Jewish remnants in parts of Africa. In particular, in recent times some Israeli scholars visited some south eastern Nigerian towns. After some studies they proclaimed that some south eastern Nigerians are of Israelite descent. Some other information I came across seem to indicate that the Israelites that dwell in Nigeria are of the tribe of Ephraim.
Gen 49:22—Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches climb over a wall.
The Ephraimites will spearhead the end-time harvest of souls. That is where the Nigerian Hebrews come in. Watch out from now and see how Nigerian Christians will perform great exploits. Going by prophecies, display of great miracles will soon commence in Nigeria. From there, the great move of God will spread all over the world, especially anywhere there is large Christian-Hebrew population. A lot has been written about the 144,000 of the book of Revelation, but the truth is simply that they are all Hebrews, and their ministry will commence this year.
Rev 7:4—Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.
Going through Thomas Gibson’s prophetic word for the month of June 2003 (www.prophetic-word.org), I could see that very strong anti-semitism is about to arise in U.S.A., even in the churches. I have a feeling that demons will instigate this hatred for the Jews when a number of them suddenly begin to do great spiritual exploits. Some Jews who will not even be involved in the great move of God will begin to utter prideful boastings about the superiority of Jews. This of course will generate a lot of hatred towards the Jews. Christians should beware lest they make very costly mistake.
Last year, somebody gave me and asked me to read "The seven church ages," by William Branham. The book didn’t appear interesting to me, but I somehow arbitrarily opened a page in the middle of the book and saw Branham’s interpretation of the meeting of Joseph with his brothers in recorded in Gen. 42 and 45.
Gen 42:22-23
22 Reuben replied, "Didn't I tell you not to sin against the boy? But you wouldn't listen! Now we must give an accounting for his blood." 23They did not realize that Joseph could understand them, since he was using an interpreter.
Gen 45:1-3
1 Then Joseph could no longer control himself before all his attendants, and he cried out, "Have everyone leave my presence!" So there was no one with Joseph when he made himself known to his brothers. 2 And he wept so loudly that the Egyptians heard him, and Pharaoh's household heard about it.
3 Joseph said to his brothers, "I am Joseph! Is my father still living?" But his brothers were not able to answer him, because they were terrified at his presence.
Branham explained that Joseph was a type of the Lord Jesus Christ. When his brothers came to him in the presence of Gentiles, Joseph spoke in tongues. But when he was alone with his brothers, he spoke plainly. In this end time, the Lord Jesus is going to establish a ministry to be spearheaded only by the Jews and He will speak the word to them very plainly. That will bring to end speaking in tongues and all the doctrines that have been built around it. There is bound to be unity in the faith (Eph. 4:13). There will be perfection (Eph. 5:26-27). That is what apostle Paul meant by ‘raising the dead’ (Rom. 11:15). The deadness in the Church will be healed.
1 Cor 13:8-10
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
Matt 13:10-11
10The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?"
11He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
Nigeria is a country where there is a lot of religious freedom, especially in the south. It is a very common thing for Christians to preach in mass transit buses. One thing that is commonly preached is that if a person gives his/her life to Jesus Christ, or receives Jesus into his/her heart, Jesus would give the person power to overcome sin, sickness, etc. People respond to these messages by praying Jesus into their hearts, changing church, etc. But, after a number of years, these people are still battling with sin, sickness, etc. What is the problem? Is the message of the preachers wrong?
The message of the preachers is not wrong. These preachers have succeeded in improving the standard of Christianity in Nigeria. However, one thing is still lacking, not only in Nigeria, but also in all of Christendom.
Luke 18:22
So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."
In Romans 7 apostle Paul describes his struggle with sin, after he became a Christian. He was greatly frustrated, until the Lord revealed to him the solution.
Rom 7:25-8:4
25 Thanks be to God-through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, 4 in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.
When the Holy Spirit comes into a man, He sets into motion the law of the Spirit of life. That man is now like a car in motion, the law of the Spirit (the word of God) is the road (John 14:6). His mind is the driver of that car. The driver must fix his attention on the road or he will have spiritual accident (commit sin). If his attention gets distracted from the road for too long, he will surely have accident. The way for the driver to avoid accident is to focus his attention on the road (Col. 3:2). That is why Jesus told the rich young ruler to sell everything, because there were too many distractions in his life. Those distractions cause multiple spiritual accidents. And sin leads to death (diseases).
Luke 10:41-42
41"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
Matt 6:22-24 (KJV)
22The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Luke 16:13-15
13No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."
14Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him. 15And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
We Christians have been worldly for too long, and so have now come to believe that focusing only on the word of God will lead to a very dull life. That is a lie of the devil. The most exciting time any person can have is in the fullness of the Spirit’s presence. That can never happen in the presence of worldly distractions.
1 Kings 19:11-13
11 The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by." Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"
Can you imagine how much people of today’s world might pay in order to enjoy this Elijah’s experience, in the name of tourism? Elijah got it free of charge. But he had to separate himself from everything in order to experience it.
Matt 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Let our only aim in this life be to be perfect even as our heavenly Father is perfect and to help other people to attain the same perfection. If we do that, we will have a good time with God. Distractions can never benefit us. See all the righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit that we lose due to distractions in our lives.
Back to the car driving illustration, honestly, a person driving does see other things apart from the road. That is true, but he only glances at those other things, he doesn’t spend time to look on them while driving. That truth should also hold in our lives as Christians. As we drive towards the kingdom of God, we are allowed some glancing attention on issues of this world. We must never put our minds so much into them as if our life or future depends on them. That is the secret to perfection.
Matt 18:7-9
7 "Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! 8 If your hand or your foot causes you to sin cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.
Here the Lord is speaking to any Christians who is not single-eyed. Gouge out the second eye that you may enter life.
Consider the story of Elisha and Gehazi.
1 Kings 19:19-21
19 So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat. He was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen, and he himself was driving the twelfth pair. Elijah went up to him and threw his cloak around him. 20 Elisha then left his oxen and ran after Elijah. "Let me kiss my father and mother good-by," he said, "and then I will come with you."
"Go back," Elijah replied. "What have I done to you?"
21 So Elisha left him and went back. He took his yoke of oxen and slaughtered them. He burned the plowing equipment to cook the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he set out to follow Elijah and became his attendant.
Elisha came from a rich background. He slaughtered his yoke of oxen and burnt his ploughing equipment and followed Elijah. That eventually earned him double portion of Elijah’s anointing. Gehazi ran after Naaman’s silver and clothing (2 Kings 5), and earned for himself leprosy. That should be a lesson to all of us. The reason why leprosy (sin) clings to many Christians is because they cannot let their eyes be single.
