Ephraimite National Entity
Ephraim Frank
Shalom Fellow Israelite,
In some of the past letters mention has been made of an Ephraimite national identity.
Over the past hundred years and more we have witnessed the restoration of the first stick or tree of Judah. Nowadays Judah is, of course, a recognized national entity amongst the other nations of the world. Naturally Israel State laws define the Jewish identity. Those who qualify have the rights to return to the Jewish State, but what about the second stick, or nation, of Joseph in the hand of Ephraim? Most of you are already aware of this phenomenon which is taking place out in the nations; that is, of Gentiles (mostly Christians) who suddenly or gradually discover that they could very well be the natural descendants of the lost tribes of Israel. There are many different testimonies as to how each has come to this awareness.
The restoration of the second stick that is taken up by “the son of man”, in Ezekiel thirty-seven, is obviously happening in the present hour. The lost tribes, like dry bones, have been without life; but now the Spirit is raising them/us up out of the graves of non-recognition and they/we are being networked together (at least through the cyber world) as His people. Thus, at present this second tree/stick is made up of many assemblies, organizations, movements, house groups and individuals. The one thing that they all have in common is their national identity as the second distinct nation of Ephraim/Israel, brother to the Jewish nation. It is therefore imperative that we define the Ephraimite national entity.
Knowing that by His Spirit, YHVH is taking all of us in the direction of nationhood, some of us here in Israel have been meeting and discussing this issue amongst ourselves, and also with the Brit Am organization. Brit Am (“covenant of the people”) is made up of members of both houses, and is one of Judah’s educational arms in studying and researching the whereabouts of the ten lost tribes. Yair Davidi (who is an orthodox Jew and the main researcher and writer) and Rabbi Feld (who is a representative for other rabbis who support this research) have sat with us and are in agreement that the Ephraimites of the lost tribes must begin to develop a framework for this Ephraimite national entity. Brit Am shares our present views and has now turned their attention to educating the Jewish nation by translating Yair’s works into Hebrew, and getting these teachings into Jewish religious study centers.
We feel that the establishment of an Ephraimite national center here in Jerusalem will help facilitate the recognition by Judah of the “second-stick”, even though primarily out in the nations, and would give flesh to the Ephraimite bones and more credence to what Yair and others (especially in the Ephraimite camp) have proven through their research. Most Jews view the ‘ten lost tribes’ only as a theory, or even a myth, but if they become aware of an identifiable people, especially if these people number in the tens of thousands, they will turn their heads and begin to study Yair’s works, which are also biblically based, with diligence.
This could very well be the time for the disclosure of the Ephraimite identity, just as it was for our forefather Joseph, in spite of being clad in an Egyptian ‘disguise’. Through troublesome circumstances Joseph’s brothers were prepared by YHVH to recognize their sibling. Today, our brother Judah is threatened by the increase of the Arab population in and around the Land of Israel, a growth which poses a threat to the demographic balance in the Land. There are some Israelis who feel that if indeed the ‘lost tribes’ are found, it could be the answer to some of our critical problems in the Land.
I don’t think that anyone who has come into the revelation of the Two Houses of Israel questions that this latter day out-pouring of YHVH’s Spirit is fulfilling biblical prophecy regarding the restoration of the whole House of Israel. The Northern Kingdom of Israel (Ephraim) was rejected and cast off by Elohim. Its inhabitants and their seed have been the broken, uncultivated branches of the olive tree of Jacob. In their/our casting away (which is how seed is sown) they/we have multiplied and have become “m’lo hagoyim” (“fullness of the gentiles/nations”, ref. Genesis 48:19). At this time there is a remnant that the Spirit is raising from the graves, through the restoration of the kingdom set up by Messiah Yeshua. This move of YHVH’s Spirit has taken on many different expressions, but there is still one element common to all of us, and that is our national identity and biblical roots.
In coordination with Brit Am and rabbis who agree with Yair’s findings, we, the Ephraimites and also sojourners living in Israel, wish to work together to establish an Ephraimite coordination and information center in Jerusalem, and would like to reach out to as many as would want to join us in this endeavor. The details will still have to be worked out.
Those of you who are interested in updates, or want to help us in some way may contact me at shevet@netvision.net.il Your prayer, input and feedback will be invaluable in helping us with this work. As of right now we are in the talking stages, but concrete plans are being developed.
"As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it: 'For Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions.' Then take another stick and write on it, 'For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions.' "Then join them one to another for yourself into one stick, and they will become one in your hand” (Ezekiel 37:16-17).
Shabbat Shalom, Hag Sam’a’ach and have a dradle of a good
time over the holidays.
