While walking through the local Home Improvement store the other day, I heard a woman say in a loud voice, "Where are the mantles, for the fireplaces?" It seemed to me there was a supernatural ring to the first part of her statement, "Where are the mantles?" Recently the Lord has been dealing with me to share on the topic of mantles and how they are attained.

Many of God’s people desire to walk in a mantle that was worn by a former saint. We are all familiar with the story of how Elisha faithfully served Elijah and received a double portion of the anointing (the mantle is the anointing). Throughout history there have been great saints of God who passed down glorious mantles of anointing, thus allowing a certain gifting to be passed on to the next generation.

As we are rapidly approaching the end of the age before the Lord returns, and raptures the church we find ourselves in an interesting situation.

There are countless mantles "out there" that have never been claimed and are just waiting to drop on someone who will believe God for it and who will meet the necessary qualifications. Ask yourself these two questions.

1. Does God want me to receive a mantle?
2. If so, which mantle does He want to give me?

You see, there are mantles available for those in ministry, business, medical, industrial, and just about every type of work that you can think of. Did you know that there are great saints of God who died and never passed their mantle on to anyone? Maybe they wanted to but none was qualified. Perhaps Elisha wanted to pass his mantle of prophetic ministry on to Gehazi, but it is apparent that Gehazi could not handle that kind of real power because he couldn’t handle a much lower form of power, that of money.

Are you living a Holy life? Are you faithful to give God His tithe, and offerings as the Holy Spirit leads? If so, I believe there is a special mantle that God wants you to claim. It belongs to you, and you have been chosen to wear it.

A few months ago the Lord spoke to me again through a dream. In this dream I was transported into the second heaven and was allowed to see a group of demons guarding a large stack of clothing. Each demon carried a long spear with a sharp pointed tip. They marched around the stack of clothing while several other demons flew overhead

patrolling the air. I knew if only I could get them away from the area then I could get down there and have a closer look at what they were guarding. Suddenly, several of God’s holy angels appeared and distracted the demons and drew their attention away from their stationed posts.

This was my opportunity. The site was left unguarded while the demons pursued the Lord’s (decoys) angels. When I arrived at the foot of the clothing pile I was amazed at how many clothes could be stacked into such a small area. The density of the pile was enormous compared to the actual size of the pile which was about five feet high in a rectangular shape and about 10 feet long by 5 feet wide. Instantly the light of revelation from God went on inside my spirit. These were unclaimed mantles! Without hesitation I knew exactly which one I wanted. I reached into the pile and pulled out a beautiful blue sweatshirt. Blue is my favorite color and sweatshirts are my favorite things to wear. I pulled it over my head and pushed my arms through the long sleeves. Ahhh, a perfect fit! The Lord then spoke to me and told me exactly who previously wore the mantle. When He told me I got so excited I just about did a flip. He said it belonged to one of His trusted prophets who lived over 1400 years ago in Europe. The name of this prophet is not important for me to make known, but what is important for you to know is that there is a mantle in that stack of clothing for you to put on! Hallelujah! I saw robes, scarves, hats, and all types of clothing representing different anointings in which individuals previously walked.

After receiving this dream I shared it with several respected ministry leaders. One of these is a pastor of a small church who has been through many trials and hardships, yet he is still moving forward in the Lord. Without him knowing about this dream, he recently shared with me in a phone conversation that God told him 11 years ago that the mantle for the city where his church is located would be his if he persevered. Despite other churches coming and going he is still there laboring and trusting God to fulfill His Word to him. When I shared the dream with him he lit up on the other end of that phone like a light bulb. I didn’t plan this, but when I was talking to him about the dream I realized I was wearing a sweatshirt. The Lord moved upon me strongly to minister to him prophetically. There was a powerful anointing present. Several nights’ back my wife and I were having dinner with an evangelist and his wife, after a great meal and fellowship my wife suggested that I share some recent experiences the Lord has granted to me. Upon hearing this dream, the evangelist suddenly lost interest in the delicious Tiramisu dessert. He wanted his mantle! He left that evening with a divine desire imparted within his heart to find the mantle that God had prepared for him. Certainly it is a healing mantle, which will greatly enhance his ministry, thus bringing the Lord increased Glory and Honor.

God has a mantle for you. It will fit your style and personality. Seek the Lord in prayer concerning the mantle assigned to you. Ask God for double the anointing of what someone previously walked in. We are the final generation; we need more power than what the previous generations walked in because of the evil day in which we live. God will show you. You will receive it. Use it wisely.
