A Vision

I saw the Lord Jesus standing around dressed like a work foreman for a construction company. He was holding building plans that said "The Body of Christ" on them. There were several work crews managing different aspects of the building. However, there were a bunch of people that I knew including myself assigned to lay the foundation. As I looked closer I realized that the crew that was to put in the foundation was representative of all different groups of people that I could imagine, and not just people that I personally knew, just people from all walks of life with all manner of different backgrounds, their one common thread was a deep and abiding faith in Jesus. They were His, promised to Him by the Father before the foundation of time.

Well, the foundation crew would begin to put the foundation blocks in place then suddenly I would notice that a segment of the work force had gone off with our foundation blocks and would be constructing a wall. Jesus would walk over to them and talk for a second then with a wave of His hand the wall would fall back to just being the bricks for the foundation. Over and over this happened. It was getting frustrating trying to lay a foundation with all these interruptions until finally when the next wall went up I walked over to it and noticed that there was a sign on the wall, it said, "differences". I realized then that each wall that went up was constructed out of the differences of each group and that each time that the focus was taken off of Jesus and His plans that this totally separate and independent wall that blocked the plans of our Lord would go up.

I felt myself start to notice each time as part of the work force would break away and I would watch in horror as another wall would be erected to man's differences. Each time with infinite patience Jesus would go over and remove the wall but it took precious time and energy away for our Lord's plans. He wanted to lay the foundation for His body of Christ and individual groups wanted to construct walls of their differences.

Let's focus on God's plans and lay aside personal agendas.
