The Doors of Intimacy

The Doors of Intimacy
Dec 15, 2002
I believe that we are in the midst of a season of intimacy with the Lord. Prior to this season we were in a season of restoration. I can venture to say that most, if not all of us, are exceedingly grateful to the Lord for bringing us from some serious wounding into a place of healing. Many tears and much laughter was instrumental in washing the wounds that were so raw. For some of us, it was difficult to leave the good feelings we felt in that season. This is not to say that there is no longer a place for restoration. It is still occurring as new souls are added to the Kingdom of God. But, as we pass through these seasons it is our responsibility to help those who are now walking in paths we have traveled with the Lord. (Read Acts 20:28-35) Our experiences of the Lord's faithfulness to us in these seasons can be an encouragement to others if we share them.
Everywhere I turn, I am hearing prophetic voices speaking of the importance of God's Children to covenant to spend some alone time with the Lord everyday. The Lord showed me that this season was like the parable of the10 virgins (Matt 25:1-13). All of the virgins were dressed for the wedding (robe of salvation) yet all of the virgins fell asleep until the warning came that the Bridegroom was on His way. All of the virgins knew in their heads that the Bridegroom was coming, but only 5 were really ready to move from that given place of salvation to walk behind the doors of intimacy that leads down the road of holiness (sanctification). What made them miss the eukarios moment? They all realized that they needed to trim their lamps and they did so. However, only five of the virgins had enough oil to keep their lamps lit. Five realized too late that they needed more oil and left the doors of intimacy to gather what should have been with them all along. I believe the doors that closed that day were not the doors of salvation but the doors of the season of intimacy with the Lord. I believe these seasons have been in place long since the plan of salvation. That is why Holy Spirit calls and calls to us to come while the door to this season is still open. He knows if we miss this season of intimacy there will indeed be felt within our spirit a gnashing of teeth and the feeling of being out in darkness for a time even though our salvation is sure. We must respond to Holy Spirit's cry today because the doors to this season will close and another will open. The importance of this season is that this time of intimacy is needed as a foundation for the season to come.
I had a vision this week during my time with the Lord. I saw a large billow of dust rise before me and heard the hoofs of a mighty horse. At first, I thought that the dust was causing things to lack color but I realized that this vision was actually in black and white. When the dust cleared I once again saw My precious Jesus on a large white horse. His face was set with resolve and in His right hand was a white banner.
I asked Him, "Where are You going?"
He responded, "Off to war." Then He asked, "Will you go with Me?"
I quickly responded with a hearty, "Yes."
He grabbed my hand and pulled me up onto the horse and we rode so fast it was almost as if we were flying. (End of vision)
I believe that the vision was in black and white because the Lord was saying there are NO gray areas in choosing to ride with the Lord into war. Before you agree to go to war with the Lord you must have your orders written in black and white (Luke 14:31). Without that time of intimacy everyday we cannot know how to battle in the war to save souls. The battle isn't against us who have embraced salvation, it is against God's lost sheep. You see the banner, which the Lord was carrying is the Banner of Salvation (see Psalm 20). He was showing us that we cannot ride off into war unless we are carrying the Banner of Salvation. If we fail to carry this banner we will become a casualty of this war. For this war is a battle for souls. This season of intimacy will make going to God for all our answers become part of our spiritual DNA. We need this for what is ahead. Let's run to Him today.
Lord, Wake us up physically and spiritually to be ready for You when You call us to come to the Wedding feast. May we have plenty of oil in our lamps not so we can see where we are going for we follow the Lamp unto the World. But, so that we can light the way for other to find their way to You. May we lay on Your breast as John did. May we be called like John was, "The disciple that Jesus loved." May we feast at Your table. May we carry our Salvation Banner so high that others will see it and use it as a marker to find their way to Your table also. We choose to covenant some time each day to come to Your Tent of Meeting whether it is in our car, the shower or on our knees. May we see Your face and have You say You KNOW us. We love You with every fiber of our being.
Amen (So Be It)
