Humility's Relationship To Destiny

Humility Produces Destiny

Divine purpose in your life requires a divine impartation from God. Divine purpose can be described as a series of events in one's life, that when experienced, come together to form one's destiny or divine purpose: Your past is always a preparation for your future. Our ultimate goal should always be our destiny (the reason God put us upon the earth). Most of us are now experiencing a series of events, or experiential aspects that point us to our divine purpose or destiny, but are we reading these events properly? Are we reading these events with destiny in mind?

As stated, our past shapes our future, and through God, history becomes one of our greatest teachers. Now we begin to understand the scriptural meaning of "The steps of a righteous man are ORDERED by God." There were certain things we had to walk through to get to where we are now, just as there are certain things that we will have to walk through to get to our ultimate destination. As an example, some of our most negative experiences have produced the greatest positive changes in our character.

In the beginning, most of our successes almost always produced pride, thus we've learned the truth and understanding that "pride will bring a fall" as surely as the sun brings light. Through our past failures in this area, we have now learned that when success comes, instead of being puffed up, we are appreciative. Why?. Because through life's many "ordered steps" we have come to a revelation of God's word that says, "God gives grace to the humble, and resist the proud." For me, it took years of successes, which caused pride, which resulted in a fall, in order that my ultimate character change internally from one of pride to one of humility. This only happened after I realized that God is my supplier; I was not. How can I have pride for what I what God did?

True humility will draw the grace for anything we need, and true humility will draw it quicker than we can sometimes pray and ask for it.

Most of us are now going through a series of events ("ordered steps") that will ultimately produce our destiny. How do we know our journey through life is designed to produce our destiny? We earlier read that "The steps of a righteous man are ordered by God," but let us look at a few more scriptural evidences:

"And we know that in ALL THINGS God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).

"For from him and through him and to him are ALL THINGS." (Romans 8:36).

God allows certain events in our live to shape us, to make us, to prepare us for our destiny and purpose - We often cannot appreciate and be thankful for certain things UNTIL we have been without them. Often, a lack of appreciation is rooted in our pride, while recognition of our appreciation is rooted in humility.

Over the years I have lost some things that I treasured. Those losses have made me appreciate the things God has blessed me with, and, if I feel my appreciation waning, I humble myself before God and ask Him to not let me take His gifts (to me) for granted.

Staying bowed before the Father is our strong key. "God resist the proud, and gives grace to the humble." Staying in a state of brokenness, staying bowed before the Father, staying humble before God causes the grace that produces destiny in our lives. Said differently, humility draws grace that produces destiny in our lives. True humility will always precede true destiny.

Humility is the order of God. Anything outside of humility is disorder. It is important to understand here that humility in a God sense is staying bowed before God, not necessarily man. Sometimes being bowed before the Father means standing up to man - saying what God says in the face of adversity and criticism.

A major part of staying bowed before the Father is accepting Jesus words in John 5:30, "Of my own self, I can do nothing." Most of us like to be Lord over our own lives; we like to make decisions apart from God. The greatest form of humility, the greatest way to heaven's grace, the greatest way to heaven's backing is to live our lives according to God's word, and I am speaking here of his spoken word to us individually. Unfortunately, most of us must take a long journey before we are willing to submit ourselves to God for his leadership: This journey is called "Coming To The End Of One's Self." When we come to the end of ourselves, when we are no longer consumed with making our own decisions, we will begin to seek God for his guidance, for his leadership and Lordship.

His spoken word to us individually is available to us - "Jesus answered, It is written: Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4). Matthew 4:4 is Jesus' reply to Satan who was trying to prompt Jesus to use his OWN MIND to solve his problems - "After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, If you are the son of God, tell these stones to become bread."

Almost every day we are faced with one situation after another in which we are tempted to use our natural minds as opposed to getting God's counsel and direction. What was Satan's greatest temptation to Jesus in this situation? "You are hungry, you have needs, provide for yourself, turn these stones into bread." How often are we guilty of providing for ourselves by making all major decisions from the vanity of our own minds? For me, it took a string of failures stemming from making decisions from the vanity of my own mind before I CAME TO THE END OF MYSELF!

What did the prodigal son do? He came to the end of himself, and when he did he returned to the Father, but more importantly, the Father came running to the son with love and provision. Returning to the Father means accepting the fact "that of my own self, I can do nothing;" that I will live only "By every word that proceeds out of God's mouth" to me; that I will diligently seek him, and therefore, as the scriptures say, "He will diligently seek me." My diligence will produce His word to me, which will produce my destiny and purpose upon the earth.

A key to understanding why God will speak to me can be found in the word "diligence." Diligence requires discipline, time, energy, and focus and without it, there will be little divine guidance. Diligence is the difference between the "many" and the "few." "Many are called few are chosen."

Decisions made upon hearing the rhema word of God translate into energy, opportunity and enabling power. When you hear and obey you will be given ENERGY, OPPORTUNITY, THE ENABLING POWER, AND RESOURCES to complete your task successfully. Always wait until you hear lest you move on your own, without heaven's backing.

In 2003 my enabling power will cause you to succeed in all that you undertake through my directives. I am watching over my word to perform it.
