Many viewers who followed Tom’s postings will never forget the alarm and suspense we endured that month while in desperate intercessory prayer to God for His great mercy towards Chicago and for His Sovereign intervention. Either He did intervene and did not allow this catastrophe come to pass, or the timeframe is wrong. (Perhaps it’s due to confusion of calendars used in software.) I deeply sense in my spirit that there is strong validity to these codes although I am not qualified to speak on the subject of Bible Codes as I have no knowledge of or understanding about them. However, I have a deep conviction in my spirit that this catastrophe is an event waiting to happen and only God knows when. Only strong intercessory prayer by the Saints of God, and REPENTANCE (turning completely away from sin) by a sinful and rebellious people can prevent this disaster from ever taking place.

"It is of the Lord’s MERCIES that we are not consumed [destroyed], because HIS COMPASSIONS FAIL NOT. They are new every morning: great is [His} faithfulness" (Lam. 3:22, 23 - KJV).

I studied the Bible codes as Tom posted them and became quite alarmed. I instantly recognized names, places and descriptions in the Chicago downtown area along Lake Shore Drive. I was stunned by Tom’s discovery of these names, places, descriptive words and identities in the Old Testament such as:

I have formatted a composite file of Tom Gaston’s Chicago Bible Codes, and have included interesting e-mail commentaries that were posted at the same time of his postings. While it may be true that most Bible Codes ongoing research on past, present and future events cannot be held to their absolute validity at present time (perhaps due to fallible software or miscalculations), this type of research is nonetheless a startling revelation to the Church of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. It reveals that God is allowing this research in His Word that is now unsealing revelations of end time events. (Bible Codes are also being used to research high profile names and future major events.) Although there has arisen strong debate within the Lord’s Church by many about this "predictive" type of research, an inner peace and a strong and empowered focus is God’s compass by His Holy Spirit in whichever calling He places on each one of His Saints’ lives. I strongly believe that no true Saint of God would deliberately introduce controversial and divisive turmoil to the Body of Christ. ("For whatever things were written before were written for our learning…" – Rom. 15: 4 - NKJV) Therefore, while I have never met or spoken to Tom I believe that he was, perhaps unknowingly at the time, called by God’s Holy Spirit to pursue research on these codes and bring them to the attention of the Lord’s Church for much needed intercessory prayer. Scripture declares, "The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever…" (Deut. 29:29 – KJV). In my humble opinion Tom is to be commended for "staying his course" during the alarming month of July while enduring much criticism from sincere minded and well intentioned Saints of God as well as from others. (Rom. 12:3-13) I kept him in prayer throughout the month. Furthermore, John Tng deserves much credit and gratitude for posting these stunning and controversial Bible codes. (Thank you, John. God bless you as you continue to serve Him and the Lord’s Church.)

During the dawning hours of July 16, after praying in the Spirit throughout the night, the Lord showed me a vision of these codes as presented in the following format. I was startled to receive this vision as my deep focus during those early hours was on the possibility of this catastrophic event actually happening. At first, I did not dwell on it as I was deeply focused on Chicago’s early morning downtown rush hour on the lakefront. So, I just continued in prayer. However, the Lord "reminded" me of this vision later that night. Then I understood that He was calling me to compile and format these codes accordingly. At first, I wanted no part of, or any identity with someone else’s work. I told the Lord so and tried to dismiss and walk away from it. However, the Holy Spirit’s increased promptings kept getting stronger that I finally decided to pray about it. A few weeks later, when I could no longer resist Him, I surrendered. I logged onto the Web and printed out all of Tom’s Chicago Bible Codes’ files. Since I’ve never done this type of research and formatting work before, I waited on the Holy Spirit to guide and inspire me. He wasted no time and prompted me to also include supportive e-mails. I assembled and organized the codes’ files and e-mails chronologically and went to work.

While many viewers in the Lord’s Church are acquainted with these codes, there remain those who may have only heard of them but have had no opportunity to view them. Many other Saints do not have computers because they are computer illiterate. (Furthermore, others simply have no interest in Bible Codes.) This work is for their benefit as well as for unsaved souls who may be interested in viewing and studying these Chicago Bible Codes. May Lord Jesus guide His viewing Saints with computers to forward as well as share with others knowledge of this composite file of Tom Gaston’s files that serve as a warning of this future event.

The following Chicago Bible Codes’ file format on Tom Gaston’s laborious and intense work is the result of the Holy Spirit’s guidance and inspiration. I now release it to the Church of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. May the Lord continue to call His Church into increasing fervent intercessory prayer for their families, friends and neighbors, President Bush and for this nation of ours. Most urgently, however, that the hearts of the Saints of God be found righteous and holy when God’s full judgment falls on America, as it’s just a matter of time.

"This ‘Chicago thing’ is starting to scare me. Check this code out in response to the code found ‘City Chicago.’ A note here, Chicago is a very, very hard spelling to find. It does NOT come for a long time. I ran 250 codes the other day, of a phrase and did NOT find [one] code of Chicago. This is how hard it is to find. This makes these finds more credible.

"I ran the code ‘3rd July Prediction.’ The reason is because my friend Bob Tippie in Chicago told me this is when they celebrate the 4th of July. He said he was not going down to the festivity this year. Not because of what I have found, because he had already made this decision before hand. He is a little nervous about the prospect of a strike against the city.

"After our conversation on the phone, I decided to see if there was anything on the City of Chicago. I decided to run the code ‘3rd July prediction.’ It came up, only [once] in the Old Testament. [It] was found at a skip of 69,476. Guess what was there. The names ‘Chicago’ and ‘Illinois,’ both of them. I couldn’t believe it. There are some disturbing things in this one also. By the way Chicago can be found in Dan. 11 times. I have 2 or 3 codes with Chicago connected right to it. I will be publishing these as soon as I can. I don’t know if this event will happen. There is no way to tell until the date comes and goes. I believe that it still could be future. I am not trying to predict or scare anyone. I started looking for the code Chicago because of what my friend Bob Tippie had told me. Lo and behold, "it has exploded with scary stuff."

2) The fifty-six Chicago Bible Codes’ files are indexed in chronological sequence. Top and bottom hand written code words are hereby presented reading from left to right as they appear on the page. When reading Hebrew, it is from right to left. Here, it may not make any difference.

3) The "matrix" represents the body text of Hebrew hieroglyphics (characters) from which the codes are taken:

When studying a matrix, the "code string" either reads forward, backward, downward or upward. Likewise, if read slantways. (When I first began to view "code strings," it took me a short while to finally figure this out.) Some matrixes are in Hebrew or English, and some are quite congested with codes. Only a strong focus helps you get through that matrix.

4) The codes are displayed with symbols "{" and "}" beneath each numbered file name and link as found in the matrix in the Old Testament. The symbol "{" indicates the beginning of the written codes, and symbol "}" indicates the closing of the written codes. There is a break notation "} ––– {" between "top" of matrix and "bottom" of matrix codes. When viewing each matrix on the monitor screen, study the codes as arranged by the author, specifically noting the drawn angled "knotted" lines between codes that link (tie) some of the codes together. These linked codes are here grouped together with the plus ( + ) key. Lack of familiarity in typing out the appropriate sequence of these codes’ placements offers no alternative way of presenting them to the reader. Also, note some added notations in various places by author.

5) In some of the codes, the word "Av" appears repeatedly throughout the codes. It refers to the month of "Av" in Hebrew. In the Gentile Calendar "Av" occurs from July 10 to August 8, 2002.

6) The number 5762 that appears repeatedly throughout the codes is the current Jewish year, which is the same as the current Gentile year, 2002.

7) The number 6002 also appears repeatedly in the codes. It refers to a year and has the same identity as year 5762. [See commentary in e-mail in Bible Code, No. 45.]

8) The eighteen e-mails are alphabetized (A–R) and are intended to stand apart from the numbered codes. They are inserted at various places. They are listed in date sequence (except the last one), and grouped together with dates of the codes’ postings.

QUESTION: "Are you familiar with Tom Gaston's Bible-Code research, which points to the 7th of Av (July 16) through the 9th of Av (July 18) as being significant dates in world history?"

ANSWER: "For the last 72-hours I have been carefully looking at some of Tom Gaston's research on Bible-Codes, and weighing some of his interpretations. (Above is a copy of one of Tom Gaston's Bible-Code graphs recently published.) [Not displayed.] Two dates keep emerging in his research: Av 7 (July 16, 2002), and Av 9 (July 18, 2002). The interpretation of the codes indicate that:

1. On July 16, 2002, an "evil" will be released into the earth.

2. There is a high risk of nuclear terrorism between July 16 - July 18.

3. Iran is connected to the nuclear terrorist threat.

4. Chicago may be a target.

"I should add that Tom Gaston has not prophesied or predicted any of the above events. He has simply interpreted a pattern of words and phrases which repeatedly appear in the Bible-Codes. Below is a commentary on the accuracy of the interpretation of the information:

The timing of Point-1 is accurate. (A great "evil" is likely to be released on July 16, as the "quartet" of nations (United States, European Union, United Nations, and Russia) meet in New York this week to discuss the creation of a Palestinian state.

Point-2 is accurate. Our prophetic intelligence has already confirmed (in our June report) a very high risk of nuclear terrorism in July, and recommended a period of prayer and fasting from June 28 to August 8, 2002.

Point-3 is accurate. Iran is the world's chief supporter of global terrorism.

Point-4 cannot be confirmed. The word "Chicago" is not specifically spelled-out in the codes, only a possible reference to Chicago's nick-name (Shi-town).

CONCLUSION: "We need to carefully monitor the international gathering in New York next week, and keep President Bush in continual prayer. The United States must not pressure Israel to give up covenant land promised to her as an eternal inheritance by God. On June 24, 2002, the United States gained ground when we stepped back from the "peace" process. But we could lose that ground as quickly as we gained it. God is our only defense against terrorism, and we must not lose him as an ally. Between July 16 and July 18, the scales may indeed be weighed against the United States and other nations represented in New York.

Note: "Brother Tom Gaston's research should not be judged based upon whether a literal earth-shaking event takes place between July 16 and July 18. Tom Gaston is simply looking for truth hidden in the Word of God. Sometimes truths are revealed as warnings, so that the Church can act, intercede and ultimately prevent the event from ever occurring."
