The Eagle, The Light, And The Rod
J. Conrad Lampan

This is a vision -or rather the first part of it as it came in two parts- that I received more than two years ago when we were preparing the November 11 National Prayer Meeting "Renewing the Covenant of the Nation with God". Many of you probably remember that when I sent this vision out there was a good deal of discussion as to what the meaning if it could be. I am sending it again because I believe it has a lot to do with what is happening and about to happen in the nation.

I was praying on those days for the meetings and the Lord showed me a vision Of an Eagle.

THE VISION:

I saw a mountain, actually the contour of the mountain as it was dark, so the contour of the mountain could be seen against some sort of light that was on the other side of it. This light seemed to be approaching.

On top of that mountain I could see a big eagle standing defiantly, she was not hiding or moving, but she was like standing her ground in a well exposed place for all to see.

As I looked the light on the other side of the mount was approaching, it was as if a "block" of light was coming, and it had a color like the bright white-bluish light you see in the sky when lighting hits in the distance and you can see parts of the sky without clouds illuminated by the lighting. It was a beautiful kind of light.

As the "block" of light came closer to the top of the mount where the eagle was standing her ground, a rod came out of that light and hit the eagle on her legs, forcing her to fly out of the place she was keeping.

As the eagle left the mountain top, the light immediately took over the place, and covered the top of the mountain, and just stayed there.

The eagle was not allowed to come down to her former place, but she had to keep flying. She did not fly away from the mountain, but stayed flying around it, always moving, to and fro as if trying to regain control.

THE INTERPRETATION:

When the vision came I did not have a full interpretation of its meaning, and the interpretation came in "chapters", and as events were developing in these past two years its meaning has become clearer.

The eagle is a symbol of the USA as we well know: She was defending, keeping her place safe, standing her ground, but she was alone, and believing that she was untouchable "on her own right" having God out of her life. She had even told God to keep out of the mountain!

The light approaching represents God taking control of HIS mountain. The USA is the only nation in the world that was founded on Christian principles and on a Christian vision. It is the only country that was founded "for the advancement of the Christian faith", but in many ways the nation has ruled God out of her life. The USA was founded on God's premises and God has a foundational right over her.

God will never forget a covenant and a promise. The light represents God coming back to cover the nation, and to exercise control over it. God is telling us that He is still the Lord. This is important to see: As God comes to take control His action also implies that there is no possibility of survival if He is out of our life.

A rod came out of the "block" of light and hit the eagle in the legs: It is interesting that it was a rod and not a sword: A sword speaks of judgement for destruction, whereas a rod speaks of judgement for correction. God does not want to destroy but to correct us, in order to fulfill His purpose.

Another interesting thing in the same sense as the above, is that the rod hit the eagle on the legs and not on the head: A hit on the head also speaks of destruction, and it would have had the eagle pass out, or even die; but she was hit on the legs which speaks again of correction: A hit on the legs, though painful did not destroy the eagle's abilities, rather caused her to start moving.

The eagle was not allowed to come back to her former place: When God is in control we cannot be in control at the same time, it is God or us.

As a result the eagle was forced to keep "on the move", flying to and fro and around the mountain top: This speaks of God's appointed tasks for the nation. The USA has been a blessing to many nations. No other nation has sent so many missionaries to the world. I believe there is no nation which has not received missionaries from the USA. As a Christian nation I also believe that what applies to Christian individuals also applies to peoples: we are the salt of the earth: A Christian nation is the salt of the earth as well.

In the vision the eagle moved close to the mountain: She is still trying to see if she can recover control. Also, she is not moving too far, but somewhat timidly and coming back or just flying "around". I believe God wants the USA to fly far and away to the rest of the world carrying blessing to the world, becoming herself a blessing to many. She would have the source of light and blessing in her home, and she will be able to come back and be nurtured in the light and take the light again to the nations.

As the USA had been turning away from the Lord, and from the foundational principles upon which our blessing was ensured, we have also turned inwardly, looking after ourselves, and caring little about the rest. This is also seen in the individual level: In the name of "privacy" people are becoming more and more isolated, creating the conditions for the enemy to work freely. Many people are defending just their private place, and sometimes there is isolation of members even inside a home! How can we explain that nobody realized that something was wrong with the neighbors when the two boys were preparing to shoot their mates in Colorado? Isolation. Care your own business.

God wants us to turn outwardly to reach the lost with His light. And to reach nations with His freedom. As we go our place is not left unprotected. The eagle had to fly out from her place on the mountain and the light = God took over: When God is in control, He is also protecting what He controls! If we let God control the nation, He will also protect her!

It is absolutely interesting, for instance, to look at the events in Afghanistan from a perspective of how God moves: Many thousands of people around the world were praying for God to intervene in that nation; Many Christians were praying that God would deliver Afghanistan from their oppressors. Over the internet mails and notes were sent to and fro asking for prayer. Does God answer prayers?

God answered those prayers: And He used the USA as the instrument to answer those prayers to bring freedom to Afghanistan. Of course it was painful for us, we do not like what happened, we are still mourning for those whose lives were taken prematurely, but we must admit that September 11 was used by God to bring us to reality: to HIS reality, and to the reality of His purposes. Could September 11 have been the "rod" that caused the eagle in my vision to start moving? Not that He caused the attack, but He used it. He uses our own failures to bring correction when needed.

On the other side, at home: God used 9-11 to bring us to our knees. People praying everywhere, not just in churches, but in stores, parks, schools, the Capitol, the White House. And it is a biblical truth that when a nation prays something will happen: God answers prayers!

I will send the second part of this vision in an another email, so as to not be too long in this one.

PS: I believe this vision applies to the Church as well, but the Church has not yet been up to the circumstances in the last events.

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing!
