Salvation, Deliverance, And Healing
How Many Will God Heal?
I want to lay a foundation for miracles. I want to give something to you that is going to help you be released into the ministry of the miraculous power of God.
One of the reasons we do not see the sick healed is because every time we pray for the sick, there is still a part of us that says, "Lord, if it be Your will." "Lord, if it be Your time." Every time we pray for the sick, or every time somebody asks us to pray for them, we say, "Yes, I will pray." We lay hands on them and pray. It sounds like one of the most powerful prayers. But, really somewhere in our heart we are still saying, "Lord, is it Your will?" "Lord, is it Your time?" a small shadow of doubt.
If we are going to be released into the ministry of praying for the sick, we must have a revelation of the heart of God. If we cannot see the will of God in healing, that God will heal all of the sick, then we need to ask ourselves, "Why will God not heal all of the sick?" Jesus was moved with compassion, He healed all the sick; every sickness, and every disease among the people.
What if Christ saw the multitudes and He said to them, "There are only some of you here that I’m willing to heal today. This group over here, you’ve got a thorn in your flesh. This group over here, it’s not My time. This group over here, it’s not My will. This group over here, you haven’t done the principles of what you need to do first to get healed. You’re not ready for your miracle. I’m only going to heal these today." Jesus never turned one
There were multitudes, which meant an innumerable amount of people. You could not number how many were there so they just called it a multitude. And He saw the multitude and the heart of God; the goodness of God, the love of God and the mercy of God was stirred. He saw the needs of the people and He was moved with compassion and He healed every sickness and every disease among the people. He healed them all.
Jesus called the disciples unto Himself and He gave them power to heal every sickness, disease, and cast out unclean devils, cleanse the lepers, and raise the dead. (Matthew 10:1, 7-8) There were twelve, then there were seventy, then there were one hundred and twenty, then there were three thousand, and now…maybe there are two billion. And He still says, "I want to call the disciples unto Myself". Do you notice He did not say the evangelists, pastors and teachers? He said, "The disciples".
John 14:12 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works That I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I Go to My Father.
There are gifts of evangelists, prophets, teachers, and such. The five-fold is for equipping you to be an ambassador, to have a revelation that you are a representation of Jesus in the earth, and you cannot do that with word only. You must do that with power. The sick need to be healed. We need to have a revelation that it is God’s will to heal all. We need the revelation that we cannot separate healing from the covenant of Jesus.
Some people have said, "If God wanted me to be healed, I should have been healed by now.
Jesus went to the man at the Pool of Bethesda. (John 5) Thirty-eight years he suffered, but Jesus already knew that he had been in that condition for a long time. Jesus looked at him as if he got the sickness yesterday and He said, "Hey! Do you want to be made whole?" There is going to be a day when He comes and says, "Do you want to be made whole?" And until that day comes, you need to war and contend and believe God and settle for nothing less than His healing in your body.
I am not walking in divine health yet. Divine health is a process. But I am going to war against sickness and disease. I am not going to have it. I do not want allergies. I do not want the flu. I do not want viruses. I do not want headaches. I do not want blindness. I do not want deafness. I do not want cancer. I do not want diabetes. And I am not going to have it. Sometimes when we think about healing, we only think about it on the big level. We need to believe for every sickness and every disease.
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance…
The word here for saved is the exact same word for physical healing and deliverance.
Whoever shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved. Could you tell a person that God does not want to save them? Do you believe that there is anybody that if they genuinely called on the Name of the Lord for mercy and forgiveness, and they say, "God, I want to be saved", God will not save them? Then why do we have such a hard time believing that whoever calls on the Name of the Lord is going to be healed? Why do we have such a hard time believing that whoever calls on the Name of the Lord is going to be delivered? Why can we readily receive salvation, but continue with sickness and disease in our body and even believe that healing and miracles are not for today? How can we continue in the bondage and the oppression of the devil with salvation in our spirit? It is because most people do not teach about the salvation of Jesus. Get ready for your deliverance. SOZO = Salvation for the body, soul and spirit at the moment of salvation.
The Connection of Sickness to Sin
Exodus 15:22-25 So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea; they went out into the Wilderness of Shur. And they went three days in the wilderness and found no water.
Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah.
And the people complained against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?"
So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet.
The bitter, sick waters became sweet. When the Lord showed Moses a type of Calvary, and the tree was thrown into the waters, the waters were healed. After they saw the healing of Calvary, after they saw the healing of the Cross, after they saw the miracle of the tree, the miracle of Jesus making what is bitter and sick whole and sweet, He said to them, "I want to guard your miracle. I want you to guard your healing. You’ve seen healing, you’ve seen the cross. I’ve shown you the healing that is in redemption."
Exodus 15:26 …"If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you."
God is saying, "I want you to have a revelation that I am the Lord who heals you." Nowhere in the Bible will you see the Name of God, who curses you, or makes you sick, puts disease on you, puts cancers on you, or disciplines you by breaking your legs and popping out your eyeballs." I am being extreme, but those are some of the things we believe in the body of Christ. "The Lord has given this to me. He wants to teach me something." Yet, if you being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more does your Father in heaven?
I would never discipline my children with sickness. I would never want to discipline my children with disease. I would never discipline my children with pain and willful affliction. I would never want to bring something on them to teach them a lesson. The Lord is not going to do it to you. "I am the Lord who heals you." I will put none of the diseases on you which I put on the Egyptians." In the Hebrew, that last part of the verse actually reads, "I will not permit to come on you what I permitted to come on the Egyptians." It is "I will not permit, to allow, to come on you because of the covenant of My protection. Because you are in covenant with Me, I will not allow it to come on you." The Key to this promise of healing in Exodus 15:26 is to remain under God’s umbrella of protection.
The reason it was on Egypt is because Egypt is sin, bondage, and oppression. Do you know where sickness and disease is? Sickness and disease is where you see Egypt. It is where you see sin, bondage, and oppression. It is connected to sin. You never see sickness and disease in the Bible until you see sin. It was after sin that the curse, sickness, disease, and every thing else you see under the curse of the law came. Before sin, they were in perfect health. There was no sickness. It came after sin in Genesis 3.
What was the first thing Jesus did on the cross? He shed His Blood for the remission of sin. He had to cancel sin first. And because He was victor over sin, He became victor over death, sickness, disease and everything else. All because He conquered sin first.
Romans 8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
God made the healing covenant with man. He said, "I brought you up out of Egypt." And now, "I am the Lord who heals you".
Psalm 105:37 He also brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none feeble among His tribes.
The Bible says that when they came up out of Egypt, they came out with silver and gold and not one was feeble in their tribes. They were so blessed when they came out of Egypt that they wore the same clothes and the same shoes for forty years. Can you imagine wearing the same clothes for forty years? You grow up and your shoes do not wear out, your clothes do not get holes in them. God blessed their natural possessions. Do you know why they were whole? Because they came out of Egypt. They came out of sin, oppression, sickness, disease and death.
On the night before God brought them out of Egypt, He said, "I want every house to have a lamb. Slay the lamb, apply the blood to the doors of your house. This is called the Feast of Passover. And when you are done applying the Blood of the Lamb, I want you to eat the flesh of the lamb. I want you to eat the Lamb of God. I want you to devour the Lamb of God into your life." So, they received Jesus into their life and they ate the flesh of the lamb applied the blood and the next day they came out of Egypt and every one of them was healed (a prophetic picture of redemption). Do you know that before they left Egypt, some of them were sick? Do not tell me three million slaves over 400 years, in Egypt did not have some sickness and disease in their body. They were not all whole until they left Egypt. But they did not receive healing until they shed the blood of the lamb, received the blood for their own life, and ate the flesh of the lamb. Then they were all healed at the moment of their salvation.
The Bible says, "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge." The devil keeps us from the fullness of what Jesus has for us because of a lack of knowledge. We do not know the fullness of salvation, healing, and deliverance. We only know the forgiveness of sin. We do not know healing and deliverance at the moment of salvation. Over three million came up out of Egypt and God healed them all. Why would God heal all then, as Old Testament Father, but yet only want to heal some today, as the New Testament Father, with a better covenant and better promises?
Healing and Salvation are the Same
Numbers 21:4-5 Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way.
And the people spoke against God and against Moses: "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness?"
We can easily miss the bondage and the pleasures of the world. We ask God "Why did you take us up out of Egypt?" This is too hard, this Christianity. This is too much work, too much trial, and too much warfare for the children of Israel. I didn’t know this was what it was going to be like as a Christian." They said, "We miss Egypt. Why did you bring us out? We are dying here in the wilderness." I was more blessed in the world. Now that I’m in church I can’t get rich anymore. I can’t get blessed. Nothing is going right in my life."
Numbers 21:5-6 …For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.
So the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died.
They got a disease that killed them. What brought the sickness? The serpents. The Lord allowed the serpents, the authors of sickness and disease, to come because they stepped out of the covenant they made in Exodus 15. They stepped out of the anointing of glory. They stepped out of walking with God, reading the Word of God, relationship with Jesus. And when they stepped into sin, the serpents came.
God has given us power to tread on serpents and scorpions. Demonic powers of sickness and disease came, spirits of death, and afflicted sickness on them. Why did this happen?
Numbers 21:7-8 …"We have sinned, For we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD that He take away the serpents from us." So Moses prayed for the people.
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live."
They key to your deliverance and healing is to look at the pole. I cannot look at the pole for you. I cannot just take the healing anointing and make your sickness and disease go away, and you go and do what you want to do for the rest of your life. Healing is going to take more of a commitment than that. You need to want God for more than what God does. You need to want Him for more than just His bread. But even when you want Him for just His bread, He will give it to you because He is a loving, merciful and gracious God. Whoever looks! You need to look. If you have never looked at Calvary, at Jesus, if you have never made a commitment for Him to be your Lord and Savior, you need to look now, and you will live. Whoever looked at another type of Calvary, they were not only saved but were healed.
In places where I have been to minister where the unsaved were, if they listened to this message of "Sozo", believed it, came to the altar and got saved, they were healed. Completely deaf ears, blind eyes, every kind of sickness and disease of unbelievers healed at the moment of conversion.
We share this kind of a gospel and they say, "That’s what salvation is? God cares about my body and soul? He doesn’t just want me to get saved and get in church? He actually cares about blessing me? He actually cares about delivering me from the oppressions of the devil, from the torment and the depression of my life? Yeah! I want it. Give me Jesus."
Isaiah 53:1,3-5 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
He is despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
Surely! If you have ever wanted to know anything about healing, it is a sure thing that He carried away sickness. It is a sure thing that He suffered and died and shed His blood just as much for sickness and disease as He did sin. Surely He has carried away our pain. This passage of Scripture talks about healing more than it does forgiveness of sin.
He suffered for our peace, our prosperity in wholeness of body, soul and spirit. Three times it mentions in Isaiah 53:3-5, about divine healing, only once it says He was bruised for our iniquity. "Surely He has carried away our grief, and by His stripes we are healed.
Do you know what Isaiah is saying? Isaiah was saying, "He was beaten, wounded, suffered, shed His blood, was rejected, in pain, torment. He carried away sickness, He carried away disease, but we saw Him as afflicted. We saw Him as the suffering, wounded Messiah. Yes, He was smitten and stricken. Yes, we see the realities of the suffering of the Cross of Jesus in Isaiah 53. He carried away sickness and disease. He was wounded for transgressions and sin. He was rejected. He was mocked. He was spit on. He suffered. He was tormented. Yet, we cannot esteem Him as stricken. We must see Him as the one who has conquered sin, sickness, disease, death and the grave. We must see Him as the victorious Christ who rose up on the third day with resurrection power, sin, sickness, disease, and death. He took the curse of the law and redeemed us so we could once again come under the blessing of Abraham and be whole in our body, soul, and spirit.
We do not understand all of the mysteries of healing. But I do know one thing; God wants to heal you. And when you do not get healed and die with your sickness, I do not understand it any more than I understand why people died in sin and did not get saved. But He is an all-powerful God. And my job is to preach the gospel, win souls, and put my hands on sick bodies and let God do the rest; let God be God. Regardless of what I feel and see, I must believe the gospel. I must believe the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I believe in the doctor. I believe God wants to heal all. And if God wants to use a doctor, God can do that. He gave them the gift. He gave them medicine and science. Some of it is from the pits of hell, but God has blessed it. I am not against doctors and nurses. I am free to go to the doctor. Healing and freedom from sickness and disease is the same as forgiveness of sins. I have come to a place in my life and my relationship with Jesus that I no longer wonder if it is God’s will to heal. I do not even think about that anymore. I can lay hands on a man in a wheelchair with just as much confidence as I can with somebody with a back condition. Because I know that He is the healer. And all I have to do is put my hand on the sick, and God does the rest.
Mark 2:1-2 And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house.
Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the Word to them.
What was the first thing Jesus did for the multitude of hungry, lost and dying people that needed a miracle? He came and preached to them. Some people just hate that when they come to a meeting. They think, "I’ve got to go home and go to bed, can you just get the sermon over with and let’s get to the miracles?" But the first thing Jesus did was to preach the Word to them. And the reason He was preaching the Word to them is because He was looking for something that they did not have at that moment that they needed to have faith to release healing, or else He would have already been healing. When what He was looking for came, He stopped preaching and He moved into miracle mode. What He was looking for was faith, and since He did not see the spirit of faith, He was preaching the Word about healing. "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."
Mark 2:3-5 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.
And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you."
If I was this paralytic man at this healing meeting I would have been like, "Excuse me, Jesus. I’m a paralytic. I’m paralyzed. I can’t walk. What does me being forgiven of my sin have to do with my miracle? I don’t need to be forgiven of my sin, I need to be healed. I need to be delivered." Then, the religious spirit rose up and said, "What are you doing speaking these blasphemies? You cannot forgive sin. God alone can forgive sin." Jesus said, "I’m going to show you that I AM God by doing the very next thing that makes God, God. The Pharisees believed two tings about God.
Psalm 103:1-3 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His Holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who Pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;
The God that forgives sin is the same as the God who heals. God in forgiveness is the same as God in healing, so Jesus said to the man, "Arise, take up your mat and walk! I want to show you that the Son of Man has power over sin."
God sees sickness and disease the same as He sees sin. Your healing is connected to forgiveness of sin. If He is forgiving your sin, He is healing your disease. You need to believe that you have it already at the moment saved. You need to believe daily that God is making you fresh and clean in the Blood of Jesus and He is not condemning you and holding your sins of yesterday against you. You need to believe and receive by faith that you are forgiven, even when you do not feel like it. And sometimes you need to receive your healing. You need to say, "Son, your sins are forgiven you so it is time to take up your bed and walk."
