I want to share with you what I call "The Four Levels of Healing." I've begun to move in miracles and healings the last two and a half years, and on that journey which has been an adventure, it's really been a pilgrimage. It' s been about contending and warring for the release of the ministry of Jesus and the kingdom of God, and I'm going to share with you how I came into the process of healing. How I came into the miracle release of God's Dunamis power. Here are the four levels of healing.

Word of Faith

The first place that we see a release of miracles is The Word of Faith. It's the healing word. It's teaching everything the Bible says about healing. It' s preaching and teaching on divine healing. It's The Word of Faith. It is, if you preach salvation, people get saved. If you preach healing, people get healed. God confirms His Word with signs and wonders. If you want people to get healed, then teach everything the Bible says about miracles and healings from the beginning of the Bible to the end of the Bible. That's one level of healing. Then people get Faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by The Word of God. Then all of a sudden they begin to hear the message of what the Bible says about divine healing and they get faith and they get healed in their seat. We see it all the time. That's a level of healing. It's The Word of Faith.

Prayer of Faith

And then there's another level of healing. It's called The Prayer of Faith. It's where you have faith and they have faith. If you anoint them with oil and you lay hands on them and you pray in faith that God will do what God said He would do.

And there is another level of healing. And so we see some miracles. But how many of you know that have been in ministry for some time, you've said, "But my God, I've only seen but a few miracles and a few healings, but yet I've been preaching healing, and yet I've been praying the prayer of faith. I've been functioning in these two dynamics of healing, but I'm still not seeing the level that I saw in the ministry of Jesus."

So that's when I began to wait on the presence of Go, and God gave something to me out of the ministry of Jack Coe. Jack Coe moved in such a ministry of God's Dunamis power that one hundred and twenty six wheelchairs were emptied in one night. I mean we are talking about the ministry of Jesus. But Jack Coe was at that place where he was thinking about what God was doing with Oral Roberts. About how Oral Roberts and many of the other evangelists in the move of the voice of healing would teach on divine healing, and then they would lay hands on the sick and they would have a healing line. Some people would get healed when they would hear The Word, and then others would get healed in the healing line. Then God spoke to Jack Coe and He said, "No Jack, you need the healing anointing."

The Healing Anointing

The healing anointing is different. It's Dunamis power. You need the virtue. You need the gift. You need to be endowed with a gift for miracles because then you can preach on tithing or you can talk about anything and people will still get healed. When you've got the anointing for miracles, it doesn't matter about the structure of your program. At any time you can just go, "Who wants to get healed? Let's release that power and we'll have miracles." God said everywhere we go, if I want to move a meeting into miracles and healings, I can. It's not about me; it's about Jesus. But I've learned how to work and cooperate with the Holy Spirit. Just about everywhere I go, I can move and shift at anytime, in any kind of service into a wave of healing. And there are times when I have to ask God if I have permission to move the service into miracles or if maybe I should hold back because he wants me to preach.

Because if we get a wave of healing going, and we've seen this in Albany, usually we won't preach. There have been nights we weren't able to release the Word of God because there was such a release of healing. So, I have to ask for permission before we can just shift the whole service. It doesn't matter what we are preaching about. It doesn't matter what we are focusing on. It doesn't matter what we are emphasizing on, it's a healing anointing.

Spirit of Counsel (Word of Knowledge)

Let me tell you about the third level. The third level is the Word of Knowledge, which is simply this, Isaiah, Chapter Eleven. Jesus ministered in the level of counsel and might. Counsel brings might. Counsel brings power. And that's the third level of healing. It's healing and counsel because the spirit of counsel brings the spirit of might. Jesus only did the things he saw the Father doing. He only spoke those things He heard the Father speaking. So that means there was a time when He got on the mountain and He said "Show me the miracles today before I go and do them. Speak to me about the miracles today before I go and do them." Then He went out and simply spoke what He had already seen in heaven. And because He had counsel, the spirit of counsel brought the spirit of might. And it brought a release of God's power.

This is probably where some of the greatest releases we've experienced in healing have come from, the spontaneous healings. We've seen more people healed through the word of knowledge and the healing anointing than with the prayer of Faith and teaching what the Bible says on healings. I used to rely on just preaching, on healing and what the Bible says about healing, and doing the old Oral Roberts healing line. But then I said, "NO!" "I want an encounter with power. I want to carry healing power so that it's no longer dependent on getting people to have faith in their faith. Or for me to get enough faith over them so they can get healed and remove all the things in their life that could be hindering their healing."

And though there's a place for that, I wanted another level. But that came out of the power realm. That power realm works by the word of knowledge and it works by the healing anointing. So I just started to simply take time before a service and say, "God, show me the miracles." And there are times still today when I'll just go up into the spirit and have visions or trances or get names or see illnesses or diseases. We need to just have a sense of what God wants to do in the meeting, and then just do what we've already seen God doing when the power comes. The oil comes all over it.

But the healing anointing is different. How many times have we seen in the ministry of Jesus where Jesus said to the two blind men, "Do you believe that I'm able to do this?" Or He said, "According to your faith, let it be done unto you." Or, "Without faith it's impossible to please God." And, "Whatever you ask for in praying, believe it and you shall receive it." And how many times do we see throughout the gospels in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all these instances of miracles and it looks like their faith had something to do with their healing? And in almost every individual account of miracles in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, God did commend their faith. Their faith released them a miracle. Their faith had something to do with their healing.

Then all of a sudden there is a whole other arena and it is called "The power of the Lord was present to heal" What? The power of the Lord wasn't present when all those people by faith got healed before? It was present. It was a different dynamic. See that was Dunamis power. And then all of a sudden we see, "As many as touched the hem of His garment were made well" it no longer had anything to do with "Did they follow the principles of healing? Did they get rid of all the things that can hinder healing? Did they find out everything the Bible says about healing? Did they get into faith? Did they do these five things to get whole?" What happened to, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" and "According to your faith let it be done unto you." So many times God looked for faith and so many times God put an emphasis on the importance of faith concerning their miracle. The woman with the issue of blood--it was her faith, and Jairias-"Only believe", I mean it was so important. And there were miracles and it had something to do with the fact that they believed God.

It didn't matter whether they believed in God or not. It was "as many as touched the hem of His garment were made whole." There was so much power on Peter that when his shadow walked by the sick who were lying in the streets of Jerusalem, they were made whole. It wasn't "Do you believe? According to your faith." There is a place where it is important to bring the people of God into faith and teach what the Bible says about healing, about divine healing and the promise of God. To teach them the principles of healing, to teach them the things that can hinder God's healing power. We need that. We need the prayer of faith. We need to anoint with oil. But more than that what we need is what God wants to bring the body of Christ into, is unprecedented power. It's Dunamis power. It's more of relying on the anointing and the spirit of counsel to bring forth miracles. And that's what I want to talk about.

There is a Difference

I want to talk about the difference between authority and power. How to walk in authority, and how that authority and the experience of authority will bring you into a healing anointing and healing power. And God just kind of put something in my heart.

Out of the Book of Acts, Chapter One, Verse Eight, God just gave me that phrase about when the Holy Ghost comes upon you, you shall receive power, and we know that word means Dunamis, dynamic, miracle, the manifestation of miracles, magnitude, amplification, abundance, great power, great strength, great virtue, and the "do the impossible". That's what that word means. And the thing about Dunamis is it is very exuberant. It's very bold. It's very experience oriented, it's like coming into the lightening of God. It's like being electrocuted. I'll tell you, when I'm in Dunamis, or when I've seen Dunamis power, I'm just buzzing for hours after the meeting. It may be three o'clock in the morning and I'll still be in bed thinking about the miracles. Dunamis power is very dynamic. Again, that's what the word Dunamis means.

And the Bible says that when the Holy Ghost comes upon you, you shall receive that Dunamis. So what does the Holy Spirit coming upon you look like? You see it in Acts, Chapter Two, and Verse Four. "And they were all filled." "The Holy Ghost will come upon you.and they were all filled." And they were filled again in Acts, Chapter Four, and Verse Thirty-one. And throughout the Book of Acts they were full of the Holy Ghost. And even the Apostle Paul says, "Be filled". What are we talking about? We're talking about a constant encounter with power.

I know people in ministry who have said, "Todd, there was that time in my life in ministry where I moved in a season of miracles and healings. Then all of a sudden, it stopped. How come? At one time in my life I was walking in miracles." You know what miracles are? They are the operation of power. "And there was more", they'd say, "There was a level of operating in power, in working power, the working of miracles. I moved in that. But then it stopped."

And I said, "Well, you know what happened? You stopped having encounters. The Holy Ghost stopped coming upon you." There isn't a one-time place where the Holy Spirit will fall on you, and you will receive the power that God wants you to have for the rest of your ministry. Very quickly when I came into the reality of knowing the Holy Ghost I began to discover the anointing and how the anointing began to operate. I discovered that I could release rivers of living water. And as I began to see miracles and healings, I learned that it was so important for me to experience an encounter with a supernatural God in extended seasons of where I would come into His presence expecting and asking God for nothing else but another experience in His power.

And to this day, I've experienced the Holy Ghost, and the baptism of fire on many different encounters. And when I come to a place where I feel that the degree and the level of the release of God's power begins to dissipate in my life, it's time for me to lock myself away again for another eight hours or so and have another encounter with power. And so I believe that it's about being filled. And that's where we receive the release of dunamis power. It's never a one-time experience.

Be Faithful with Authority

But that is not so much what I want to focus on right now. I want to focus on how to get yourself ready to be in that place where healing power and healing anointing will come on your life by being faithful with authority.

In Matthew, Chapter Ten, Verse One, we see, "And having summoned the twelve disciples, He gave them power," and that word power means he gave them authority. That word authority means He gave them the right. He gave them the Word. He gave them the permission, and He gave them the commission. He told them what to do. That's what that word power means here. And He told them to have authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

So they began to operate in authority. And as they began to operate in authority, God said, "I want you to preach the gospel, I want you to heal the sick, I want you to cleanse the leper, I want you to raise the dead, I want you to cast out demons." And He gave them authority, He gave them the right, the permission, the commission, He told them what to do, and He said, "I want you to do it, I want you to go."

And they started to operate in that power and then we see something in Luke, Chapter Ten. And what we see in Luke, Chapter Ten, and Verse One is "After this, the Lord appointed seventy others. He sent them two by two ahead of Him to every city and place where He was going to come." What Jesus gave unto those seventy was what He gave unto the twelve. And what He gave unto the twelve was authority, the permission, and the right, and the word, and the commission to do what God wanted every believer to do.

And the reason it started with twelve is because there were only twelve. Then it went to seventy because there were seventy. And after seventy, there was one hundred and twenty, and after one hundred and twenty, there were three thousand, and after three thousand, Peter said "even as we've received." What we've received isn't just speaking in tongues, we've received Acts, Chapter One, Verse Eight, which is Dunamis power so that now we can be a witness.

What did that Dunamis power look like? It was miracles, signs and wonders. It was the birthing of the New Testament church. It is preaching and teaching the gospel, healing every sickness and disease among the people. A great example of Dunamis is Peter in Acts, Chapter Five. They laid their sick in the streets, on their hospital beds, so that when Peter would walk by, he carried such a level of power, such a level of healing anointing, all the sick were healed that were on the street, that were in the perimeter of where he was.

This was an awesome release of God's power. But He said "this is for you, for your children, and as many as the Lord our God shall call." What was for them? Matthew Ten. What was for them? Authority. What was for them? Power. What is for you? Power. What is for you? Authority. What is for you? What is the Spirit of God saying? "Preach the gospel, heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead and cast out demons."

So many people in ministry say, "God, do you want me to move in miracles? That's just for the evangelist. Do you want me to move in healing? That's just for that healing person, they have a gift of healing, they have a gift of miracles."

NO! We're talking about the gospel. We're talking about the great commission. We're talking about the ministry of Jesus being released into the hearts and into the minds of every believer. That's what we see throughout the scripture, from the beginning of the Bible to the end of the Book, it's always been about all. It's always been about the saints being released for the work of the ministry and walking in what we see released in Matthew, Chapter Ten, and in Luke Chapter Ten.

And God gave it to them also, but you know what? When they received the authority, they didn't have all this confidence that anything was going to happen. Because later on when you get to the end of this scripture, the seventy actually began to go out to cast out devils, and to heal the sick, and all they had when authority came was the Word. All they had was faith that they could and needed to do what God was already telling them to do, according to the Word and the promise. That's all they had. Because with authority isn't a whole lot of Dunamis. The word authority and power in Matthew, Chapter Ten was different than the power in Acts, Chapter One, and Verse Eight. And I want you to watch what happens when they operate in their authority.

Lets go back to Luke, Chapter Ten. See. they were shocked. They were disbelieving when they went, because when they came back, they were like, "Hey, this works. Even the demons were subject to us." So there wasn't a whole lot of believing on their part.

Now look at Luke, Chapter Ten, Verse Seventeen "and the seventy returned with joy saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name." And then He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightening." Some power came down out of heaven. There was a shift in the heavenly realms. And in Verse Nineteen, look at this. "And behold I give unto you power" (authority). Wait a minute, He already gave them power and authority. Why is he giving the power and authority again? I thought He gave it in Luke Chapter Ten, Verse One. I thought He gave it in Matthew, Chapter Ten.

But now after they begin to operate in what God told them to do, they come back and now he says in Verse Nineteen, "I give unto you power and authority to tread on serpents". That word tread is to trample and bring under foot demonic powers and principalities. That's more than just casting out demons. It's taking land. It's trampling and bringing under your foot strongholds. Then it goes on to say that power is over the power of all the enemy, not just demons anymore, it's principalities, it's strongholds. It's demonic rulers and entities over whole regions and over whole cities.

So it's no longer "I give you power". The demons are already subject to you, but more than that, "I give you power and I give you authority." Why? You've been faithful to do what I've already told you to do. And you've begun to practice and contend and to put to work in your life what I already told you that you could do. That authority and that experience has caused you to gain authority in the Spirit, so I'm going to give you a little more. And now I'm going to allow you to have power over all the enemy. And to tread on them, and bring them under your feet. Bring them to the subject and to the rule and reign of Jesus Christ.

See, when I wanted to be released into miracles, I was excited about healing. I wanted to heal the sick. I believed in power evangelism, the kingdom of God is not in word only, but in power. You know how it all started? It started with authority. All I had in the beginning was the right and the permission and the Word of God, and the commission that I would lay hands on the sick and they would recover, that those who believed in Jesus would do the works that He did, and even greater. All I had was everything the Bible promised about divine healing. I had a revelation that it was God's will. That just as much as it was His will to forgive somebody, it was just as much His will to heal them of their sickness. I had the confidence. I started reading everything the Bible said in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and everything the Bible said about healing. I fed on healing. I didn't read anything else but healing because I wanted the healing anointing. I wanted to contend for that healing anointing because I knew that I wasn't walking in dunamis power yet. I was only operating in the realm of authority.

So I went out in the realm of authority and I started laying hands on the sick. And if you lay your hands on a hundred and nobody gets healed, then lay your hands on another hundred. And if you lay your hands on another hundred and still nobody gets healed, then lay your hands on another hundred because you're operating in authority. You've got he permission, you've got the right, you've got the commission, you've got what the Bible says, now you begin to do it, even though you don't believe you can do it. "Can God use little ole me?" And then when it happens, you're shocked. My goodness! God actually did a miracle! You know, it actually happened! It actually worked!

He said, "Of course it worked. He who believes in me will do the works that I do." So we actually begin to get levels of healing. We actually begin to get victory over certain categories of sickness and disease. That's authority. Then all of a sudden you begin to get experience, and you begin to be lifted into heaven into a greater release of power to overcome that sickness and overcome that disease.

See, I have the permission to heal the deaf. I have the right to heal the deaf. The Bible says, the deaf hear. I have the right, I have the permission. God said, "Do you want the deaf to hear?" I said, "I want the deaf to hear, but God, I don't feel the anointing." I'm waiting for the spiritual fuzzy to come down out of heaven." God said, "Heal the deaf" I said, "God, I want the deaf to hear, I don't have the anointing." He said, "Son, I want you to heal the deaf".

So what I started to ask everywhere I went over the last couple of years was. "Anybody deaf? Come on, deaf." I just called to all the deaf and I started to lay hands on the deaf. And nothing happened. And I can remember in the beginning praying for the deaf and that was my biggest struggle in healing was getting the deaf to hear. I just couldn't get any victory. No deaf. So I kept pressing, and I kept pressing and I kept saying give me the deaf, give me the deaf!

Then all of a sudden, God gave me a key about the spirit that makes people deaf. So I commanded the devil that makes people deaf to begin to "LOOSE!". Then all of a sudden, a couple of deaf ears opened. And so after a couple of deaf ears, just about every where I went, now I had power.

Now I had the right, I no longer just had authority, because I had an experience. I did what God told me to do and it worked. The devil knew that now I knew what I was talking about because I had seen it happen. So then the next time the deaf came, there was a little bit more of a confidence. The confidence of God in my heart, and I said, "OK, deaf." There was a little bit more expectation that something would happen, and as I prayed for the deaf, God opened the ears of the deaf. We are now to the place where over eighty percent of the deaf we have prayed for, God has opened up their ears.

We've had great victory and success in seeing God open up deaf ears, but it all started with warring. It all started with contending. It is like that with every level of miracles, signs and wonders. I've had to birth every level. We've had to birth the healings of tumors. We've had to birth healings of back injuries, we've had to birth healings of arthritis. I had to operate in authority. I had the right, I had the permission, I had the Word of God. I know it is the will of God to heal, I see divine healing in the Bible. But I don't feel any power. I don't feel like I have a healing anointing. I don't feel like I have a gift for miracles, sings and wonders, but as I begin to operate, and as I was faithful, and as I saw some successes, one day Jesus came to me and he said, "Todd, now you're ready for the healing dunamis power. Now I'm going to give you an anointing." And that 's when the anointing kicked in.

It happened about a year ago. And when the anointing kicked in, all of a sudden everything that we had seen God do began to triple. And we came into such a place of power, that we just started to say, God, touch the sick in their seats. And miracles started to happen. Hundreds of healings of just about every kind of sickness have come as we've called on the power of God. The Holy Spirit has come and touched people in their chairs, in their seats, in worship, and through the word of knowledge.

Then all of a sudden at the end of the night, we'll have a healing line. At the end of the night we lay hands on all of the sick who didn't get healed by the word of knowledge, who didn't get healed by the anointing.

God wants you to operate in authority. Do you know why the body of Christ doesn't move in miracles, sings and wonders? It's waiting for dunamis. But do you know what? Dunamis won't come until you are faithful with authority. Until you take the talent of what God has already given to you and you invest that talent because you want Him to give you five talents. And I'll tell you what. I was faithful. With nothing but faith, raw faith, I took that raw faith, my one talent and I didn't go bury it and hide it, and say "Well, God, I need to feel something. I know that you've called me." I've had visions for ten years of having a ministry like Katherine Kuhlman, but it hasn't happened yet.

I meet people all over the world in the body of Christ that talk about the healing anointing they have, the call of God that has come over their life to heal the sick. And I say, "What are you waiting for? How come you're not in the hospitals? How come you're not exercising and contending and birthing and maturing and nurturing what God's given you?" They are like "Well, the power hasn't come. I'm waiting for something to, I don't know, supernaturally possess me and bring me onto the platform before twenty thousand people or something."

That's what we are. We are experience oriented. And the experience will come. The anointing will come. But when there is nothing else, there is authority. And God always rewards authority. He always blesses as you are faithful to invest, multiply, contend and pray for a thousand people, and see nothing, and pray for another thousand and still see nothing, and pray for another thousand.

I went on a pilgrimage in March to Africa. I said, I'm going for a John G Lake anointing. I said, "Cliff, when we get to Africa, we're going to have those pastors set us up to have meetings day and night. I'm going to be relentless. I want meetings day and night. I want crusades, I want open airs, and I want to pray for every person myself." You know why? Because I needed the practice. Really! I needed to get some experience. I needed to get some authority. I needed to do something that I already believed God called me to do.

And that authority, see the seventy were already moving in "preaching the gospel, healing the sick, cleansing the leper, and raising the dead." They were already moving in that. But what happened in Acts Chapter One, Verse Eight was another level of what they already had. It had begun to impact whole cities. That's what happened in the New Testament, whole cities. Philip went down to Samaria and held revivals that literally turned whole cities upside down, and ended up turning the whole nation upside down, a pagan nation, the nation of Rome. That was the difference. They were still preaching and healing and cleansing the leper and raising the dead and walking in the kingdom of God and seeing the ministry of Jesus, but they were doing it on authority. And then one day when they were faithful with authority, the permission, what the Bible already says you can do, and they just did it, and they did it warring and contending. They did it saying, The kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force. Then one day God came along and said, "Here comes power"!

Now, some of you have not come into the release of your power because you haven't done anything with authority. It's like King David, he didn't become King for fifteen years when he was anointed as King, the Spirit of God came upon him from that day forward. And fifteen years later, he became King. But first he was faithful in the wilderness with a bunch of bums, thieves, and robbers and misfits, and he trained their hands for war.

Then he became the King over Judah and he was faithful in that sphere, in that perimeter that God gave him. He started to do what he could in that place. God said, "You're faithful". Then God said, "Do you want to be King now, for the whole of Israel?"

That's where I want to end up, friends, in Kingly Oil, in Kingly Anointing, in Kingdom Power. I want so many talents that it's to rule over whole cities, but I'm not going to get there if I can't be faithful in the wilderness.

Sometimes the wilderness is dry and sometimes it's hard. Sometimes there is little fruit, just a bunch of bums and thieves and robbers, but as you're faithful to train their hands, and pray, and lay hands on the sick and see no results, and continue to lay hands on the sick anyway, then God will bring you to Judah. As you are faithful in Judah, then He will let you be the King over Israel.

But some of you are doing nothing. It's time to begin to release that authority. That's what I want to see the Spirit of God do. So I want to begin to challenge you to stir up the gift of God. I want to begin to challenge you to jump into the journey, into the pilgrimage. I want to challenge you to begin to not only preach about what the Bible says about healing but to have healing lines in church just about every Sunday. God says, "Do you want miracles?" Then this is what you need to do. You need to build a miracle atmosphere" How do you build a healing atmosphere? It isn't having a healing Sunday once a month. It isn't every three months focusing a few sessions on teaching on healing.

God says, "Do you want healings? Do you want miracles? Do you want signs and wonders? You need to make room for the Holy Ghost to come with signs and wonders just about every time that you do anything, and anywhere you go. You need to make room for it. If you will make room for it, just about everywhere that you go, I'll come and I'll release miracles."

There is hardly a place that we go and a service that we do where we don't make room for people to get healed. It doesn't matter that we are not talking about anything that has anything to do with signs and wonders. Somewhere in that place, we have to make room for the Holy Ghost to demonstrate the kingdom of heaven and bring the manifestation of the power of God, because that's what the kingdom of God is. It is not in word only.

God has been faithful. I tell you it is nothing about Todd Bentley. I've learned a process; I was hungry for God, and I fell in love with Jesus. I found out what the Bible said about what I had, the authority that I had to do what God wanted to do with me and everybody else, and all I did was believe that I could do it, that God could use "little ole me."

So I started to apply those principles. I started to get ruthless; I started to war against the kingdom of Satan. I started to get aggressive. I started to say, "My God, it doesn't matter what I think, it doesn't matter what I feel and it doesn't matter what I see. This is what you said." It all started with authority. But as I was faithful with authority, one day God said "Now I'm going to release power. And when power comes, you'll never be the same."

Are you ready? I want to pray and ask God for authority and ask God for power. We want to stir up those gifts.

Spirit of God, I ask right now for healing power. Holy Spirit I ask right now for virtue, transferable virtue, transferable power, and transferable authority, transferable healing anointing for those who are hungry for harvest. For those who are saying God, I want a harvest of souls. Spirit of God let it come now. Power! Father, Power! Tangible, transferable authority, and transferable power. That anointing, just begin to come right now for every heart, for every disciple, for every pastor, every leader, every minister. Lord, even dunamis power, even gifts of miracles, even gifts of healing, that you would release that now, Spirit of God. Release Your power, Jesus. We call upon the Name of the Lord right now. In Jesus Name!
