Isaiah 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Romans 1: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Earlier this year I had a student who did a Likes/Dislikes collage for a class of mine where he had to find pictures of things he liked and disliked. Much to the shock of most of the students he put "AMERICA" on the "Dislikes" side. But then he proceeded to explain. He said, "I don't like what America has become. America has removed God from the public arena and won't allow students to pray or His Word to be upheld in public. I don't like America. I don't like the fact that our basic religious freedoms are taken from us." He had a point. I looked back over the decades of my own life. the trends... In the 1950"s we lost the fear of the Lord. He was just a good old Santa Claus that gives us blessings. and we DESERVED THE BLESSING because we were Americans. We became Christians by rote. If we were Americans we were Christians. If we went to a church we were a Christian. Things got messed up and we slipped our moorings. In the 1960's we declared " GOD IS DEAD". Man took over, fulfilling the above scriptures from Romans 1. "Professing to be wise, we became fools." After all "the fool hath said in his heart THERE IS NO GOD." We became very adept at "serving the creature rather than the creator." This theme flourished even more in the 1970's to the present. Creation is more to us than our Creator. We weep more over losing a whale than the millions of babies aborted yearly. We celebrate the "year of the child" and "save the children" but we are casting them into the fire by freeing them of all parental restraints and relegating them to the state to raise while we "party on." We have made the child the IDOL, to be worshiped but never RAISED. Manners and respect are out. Cheekiness is in. Looking at Isaiah 11: 1,2, we see the true spirit of God manifested. We, on the other hand have lost the fear of the Lord, which resulted in the loss of wisdom which cost us our understanding. Without that we have NO COUNSEL or MIGHT. Who is going to listen to a bunch of compromised, double speaking church members who stand for nothing for fear of loss of money or "members."? Look up, those who practice lip service to God; God will require of you your "members" anyway for He wishes to RESTORE the spirit of God upon his people. And as they grow in the Spirit of God, rapid judgment will fall on all this other mish mash called "Peace and Democracy". What needs to happen? A restoration of Isaiah 11:1,2 to the hearts of His people. Only God can do that, and only His people will receive it. Once that happens, the TRUTH of His word will issue forth out of the MOUTHS of his people, young and old, unknown or famous...bringing immediate downfall of all that is not of Him and establishing His saints forever in their Inheritance.
Amen so be it Lord.
