I woke up this morning with one thought - the Lord is saying that what we are seeing in Florida is a reflection of the church.

We see a group refusing to follow the electoral process set forth by our Constitution. They are looking for every imaginable loophole to excuse themselves from submitting to the law of our land. The very same people who twist and use the constitution to champion their "rights" have now found it expedient to ignore it because it does not agree with their agenda.

Does that sound a bit familiar? As I watched the news in exasperation, I cried out to the Lord to right this wrong. I heard His answer - How can you ask for a higher standard for the nation than you have for the church! How many prophetic words have been given that the Lord will allow NO COMPROMISE from His people? How many times have we been admonished to "choose this day whom you will serve?" Yet, we look for loopholes in the Word. We said "Yes, the Bible says that - if you want to take it LITERALLY - but that doesn't apply to my situation...

"We want to pick and choose our Scripture to support our pet doctrines. We want to claim all the scriptures about healing and prosperity and revival but how many of us have the one about not bearing false witness against our neighbor framed and hanging in the living room? Or the one about esteeming others more highly than ourselves? Or the one about the sin in giving the rich man the best seat while we say to the poor man "Sit here on the floor"...

I wait in repentance, crying out once again for the mercy and the grace of which we are all so undeserving.
