We are instructed in Psalms 122:6-9 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces." For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, "Peace be within you." Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek your good.
The Church must rise up and pray. This is a very crucial, and critical time in Israel's history. We must cry-out, interceding seeking God to intervene for the peace of Jerusalem. We cannot be silent, our cry must come up before our Father. Asking the Lord to intervene. Never will mankind produce a lasting peace. The peace that will come will not be negotiated, it will not be brought about by the pen of the political, but from the prayers of the Saints. The promise is clear... "Call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things that you have not idea about.(Jer. 33:3).
In Psalm 137:5-6 we discover how serious the Lord is about our call to pray for Jerusalem. Hear these warnings. ..... "If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you, let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth-- if I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy". It is imperative that as pray, now during this is pivotal time, during these dangerous days. Do not take this situation lightly. There are forces at work here that seek the destruction of Kingdom of God.
The Prophet Isaiah gives us the correct response to the request for our prayers for the Middle East. In Isa. 62:1-12 we read.... " For Zion's sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns. The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD will name. You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; but you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married. For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you. I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. The LORD has sworn by His right hand and by the arm of His strength: "Surely I will no longer give your grain as food for your enemies; and the sons of the foreigner shall not drink your new wine, for which you have labored. But those who have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; those who have brought it together shall drink it in My holy courts." Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway! Take out the stones, lift up a banner for the peoples! Indeed the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the world: "Say to the daughter of Zion, 'Surely your salvation is coming; behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.'" And they shall call them The Holy People, the Redeemed of the LORD; and you shall be called Sought Out, a City Not Forsaken.
God Has Promised To Bless All Who Bless Israel.
Gen 12:3
I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
This is a time to seek the Lord, and intervene, your prayers can and will make a difference. Prayer moves the hand of God.
May we not sin, in our neglect to pray.
