Need A Lift?

Hi Loved Ones,

In 1995 I had a vision of a catapult and I heard the Lord say that He was going to hurl me forward through time and space. That same week my son drew a picture of a battle scene where there were warriors fighting in the sky and on the ground. One of the warriors was being hurled through the air by a catapult. I was quite amazed as I looked at the various parts of the picture and realized how it identified with my life. The catapult certainly caught my interest as well as what the Lord had said but I was not sure exactly what it meant. Now I have more understanding.

There are many of us who have been in a long battle. In one way or another, most have become wounded in the fight. (These wounds are nothing to be ashamed of, for in the heavenlies they are like hero badges or medals of honor. As we rise again, and the Lord heals these wounds, they will become healing ground for others in the same place.) Some of the wounded have found themselves placed in situations that would best be called predicaments. It's called being stuck; unable to move forward, unable to move backward. And instead of the offensive stand against the enemy, their battle cry has become, "HELP GOD!" They have been stuck in this wounded place for a long time. They have wrestled and fought against the enemy, against their own pain and circumstance, and still not found a way out. It is in this place He prepares the catapult.

David prayed, "Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me." (Ps 59:1) That word deliver in the Hebrew (natsal) means to 'snatch away'. [Strong's #5337]

Paul said, "But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!" (2 Tim 4:17-18 NKJV) In this scripture, the Greek word for deliver (rhoumai) means to rush like a strong current of water, or draw out and rescue. [Strong's # 4506]

My last post spoke about a coming change and also a changing of the guards. There are many aspects of change that will work its way down through the body of Christ and into our personal lives. One of these changes will be deliverance. There are two kinds of deliverance. One is where our enemies are driven from us. The other is where we are snatched from them. We will see both kinds of deliverance in the days to come. However this post is about the latter.

If you find yourself stuck in a place and you are unable to find your way out, this is not a time to let go or give up in despair. Rather it is a time to seek His face, pray, cry out, press in and call upon the Lord like never before. A key buzz word that I am hearing a lot lately is, "Desperate." It is a time to ask, seek and knock until He answers. It is a time to press in. Some have become so used to waiting, and praying haphazardly from time to time, that they do not realize that the Lord is already making plans to snatch them out of "prison." And when they are snatched, they may be very surprised where they land!

Without our knowing it, expectation, preconceived ideas and presumption can sometimes keep us in "prison" and from receiving God's best. We have preconceived ideas of what the Lord is wanting to do for us, and therefore it keeps us from actually receiving what He is wanting us to step into. That is why He sometimes brings us to desperate places, so that we are willing to receive what He wants. He wants to give us good gifts but sometimes we become our own worst enemy and unintentionally resist Him.

The following is a precious story sent to me via email. It's one of those perfect quickened Words that the Lord fills with life. ("It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John 6:63 KJV)

"Kitten From Heaven"
A pastor had a kitten that climbed up a tree in his backyard and then was afraid to come down. The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk, etc. The kitty would not come down. The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided that if he tied a rope [from the tree] to his car and drove away so that the tree bent down, he could then reach up and get the kitten. He did all this, checking his progress in the car frequently, then figured if he went just a little bit further, the tree would be bent sufficiently for him to reach the kitten. But as he moved a little further forward ... the rope broke.

The tree went "boing!" and the kitten instantly sailed through the air-out of sight. The pastor felt terrible. He walked all over the neighborhood asking people if they'd seen a little kitten. Nobody had seen a stray kitten. So, he prayed, "Lord, I just commit this kitten to Your keeping," and went on about his business. A few days later he was at the grocery store, and met one of his church members. He happened to look into her shopping cart and was amazed to see cat food. Now this woman was a cat hater and everyone knew it, so he asked her, "Why are you buying cat food when you hate cats so much?" She replied, "You won't believe this," and told him how her little girl had been begging her for a cat, but she kept refusing. Then a few days before, the child had begged again, so the Mom finally told her little girl, "Well, if the Lord gives you a cat, I'll let you keep it." She told the pastor, "I watched my child go out in the yard, get on her knees, and ask the Lord for a cat. And really, Pastor, you won't believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes. A kitten suddenly came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws spread out, and landed right in front of her."

Lovingly,
Sandy
