Hell Will Not Prevail
Hollie L. Moody

On October 9th, 2000, (which was also Yom Kippur), I felt the Lord showed the following to me. After praying and seeking the discernment of a few people I know and trust, I feel the following vision concerns Jerusalem / Israel not only in the natural, but in the spiritual.

What is occurring in the natural in the nation of Israel in this day, I feel is what is actually occurring in the spiritual in the Church, and will occur in the future in the Church. While the focus is mainly on the natural, outward, signs of what is happening today in Israel, I feel this may have distracted us from seeing clearly in the Spirit what is actually happening in the Church spiritually. This is a critical time in which we should be striving to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church. We need to see with our inner, spiritual eyes and not just with our outward, physical eyes.

Hell Will Not Prevail

The Lord showed me His hands holding a book. His left hand was holding the book, and His right hand was slowly turning the pages. As I watched the pages turning, it appeared to me that the book was divided into chapters.

Eventually, as one page was turned, I saw that it was the last page of a chapter. It appeared to be the next to the last chapter in this book. When this last page of the chapter was turned, the hands paused. I became aware of a very intense silence. It was the sort of a silence that precedes a momentous event.

I began to look around to see what was possibly going to occur. I saw four large angels in the sky. They were standing in a position as of a large square. Each angel was holding out their arms, as if they were blocking something or someone.

Behind the two angels on the right, I saw other large angelic beings, but I somehow sensed that these were demonic angels. The demonic beings were holding what appeared to be a large rolled up scroll. This scroll looked like a very dark carpet, rolled up. I saw that the demonic beings wanted to unroll this dark scroll over the earth, but the four angels were preventing them from doing so.

Then, I saw myself up above the earth. I was looking down, and I saw small points of light here and there upon the earth. They looked like small flames. As I watched, the small lights began to come together and form larger pools of light.

After this occurred, the four angels stepped aside and came together. When they did this, the demonic beings holding the dark rolled up scroll, dropped the scroll. The scroll began to unwind and spread over the face of the whole earth. A darkness and a dimness began to spread over the earth. When this happened, I felt a smothering sensation come over me.

The four angels lifted up into the sky. I watched them, and saw as they disappeared from my sight. As I continued to stare upwards into the sky, it was as if the heavens opened up. I saw as groups of angels began to step through this opening in the sky.

One group of angels had trumpets in their hands. Another group of angels held bowls in both their hands. I also saw the Lord, and He was holding the same book in His hands as I had seen at the beginning of this vision. (When I say I "saw" the Lord, more than actually "seeing" Him with my physical eyes, it was more like I "knew" in my spirit that it was the Lord.)

The Lord stepped to the forefront of the groups of angels holding the trumpets and bowls. He opened the book back up to where He had left off with the last chapter (where the silence had fallen). Once again, He began to turn the pages of the book. I saw that almost all the pages had already been turned.

The Lord and the angels were gazing soberly at the earth. I looked to see what they were staring at. It was like my sight narrowed down to one point on the earth. I somehow knew that I was gazing at Jerusalem.

There were armies gathered all around Jerusalem, and also completely surrounding the whole nation of Israel. I could see further out across the seas and the land and the skies, and saw that more military forces were headed towards Israel.

There was intense fighting going on within Jerusalem. Smaller battles, but just as fierce, were also taking place in other sections of Israel.

Then, I felt a trembling in the ground. I watched as Jerusalem began to shake. The ground began to split open. I felt that this was an earthquake that I was witnessing. The city began to fall into sections.

I then heard and felt a tremendous blast coming from within Jerusalem. The effects from this blast spread outwards over all of Israel, and out to the seas, lands and skies. I watched as huge tidal waves formed and the ships in the seas capsized. Airplanes fell from the sky. The armies on land that were converging on Israel, seemed to just disintegrate.

At the same moment, the Lord gave a great shout. I turned and saw that there were warring angels that had appeared around the Lord and around the angels holding the trumpets and the bowls.

At a command from the Lord, these warring angels gave a great shout, and hurtled down towards Israel, and began to do battle on Israel's behalf. The Lord did not join in this battle. Those which remained of those who had come against Israel, were driven backwards and fled. Israel was saved, yet it was a devastated shambles.

After this happened, the scroll that the demonic beings had been rolling out over the whole earth, was completely unrolled. The earth had a dim appearance. There were still small flames and groups of flames burning at spots on the earth (I felt these were saints and churches), but it was as if the flames had been somehow subdued.

Then, I felt a trembling under my feet, and watched as a temple began to emerge from the ground. This new temple was situated upon a hill. It was so awesome, and majestic appearing, as to be almost indescribable.

I am sure that each person who may read this vision, will feel a particular interpretation within their own spirits. Some will say this only concerns Jerusalem / Israel in the natural, and is what is occurring today. Others may feel that this only pertains to the spiritual church. The rest may feel this isn't from the Lord at all.

I feel this is perhaps both physical and spiritual. This is portraying outwardly through the city of Jerusalem / the nation of Israel, what is occurring spiritually in God's Church.

I find this a vision of hope and trust and faith. To me, it reassures me that God will have a Church. (Matthew 16:18 ~~ "And I say unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.")

The book I saw in the beginning of this vision (the turning of the pages, the end of a chapter), could signify a change in season, or a dispensational change. One chapter is drawing to a close, and another one is beginning. This could mean that we are now coming into the final season of God for this Church age.

There are four seasons in a year, and I saw four angels. This could signify, once again, imminent change.

The scroll which appeared as a dark, rolled-up carpet could symbolize efforts to smother the Church, and to put out the small flames of light I saw. These small flames could represent the Word and Truth.

A trumpet in scripture speaks of warning, of calling to assembly, of preparing for battle and a Divine proclamation. God is speaking to the Church, and those with ears to hear have got to start listening. I do not think it is a declaration of war, because the battle is already won, but in some way it could be likened to a declaration of war... and I feel it is, "Enough is enough".

The references to the bowls could be either blessing or judgment. These blessings or judgments are ready for distribution. God's blessings and judgments are being prepared to be poured out.

The armies / warfare that I saw in this vision is the battle, perhaps, between good and evil. Some may feel this portrays Armageddon. At first, I wondered that myself. When I asked the Lord, He reminded me that in this vision, He did not join in the battle. This is significant. In the Battle of Armageddon, the Lord does join in the battle.

The fact that the Lord did not join in this particular battle, seems to indicate to me that the Lord wants us to rise up and do the battling. With our spiritual eyes and ears opened, we will become aware that we are not fighting this battle alone. We have help from above. (Ephesians 6:10-18.)
