David at Ziklag

Ziklag was the last outpost in Judah. It was overrun by the Philistines and under the control of Achish, King of Gath. In Strong's "Ziklag" is described as being of uncertain derivation with no known meaning. IN OTHER WORDS, IT WAS A NO WHERE, NO NAME PLACE THAT NOBODY ELSE WANTED! But for David, it became a base of operation and preparation. Here his family and army lived and prospered and their reputation grew. Enemies were defeated and David's fame spread.

While David and the men were away offering their services to the Philistines, the enemy came and carried away the women children and spoils. At the same time Saul was surrounded by the Philistines (poor David, even the Philistines didn't want his help). Here the sharp contrast between David and Saul was demonstrated. Saul sought help from the medium at Endor for wisdom in the coming battle. David sought the Lord concerning his predicament. David heard from God....SAUL HEARD FROM THE DEAD! David had everything restored, Saul lost it all--including his life.

Ziklag was David's last place of being ostracized before being recognized as the anointed King that he was. It was the launching pad to his destiny. A nowhere, no name place on the fringe. Ziklag.

Many of you have "been there, done that". You could name the place you are now Ziklag. The good news is, the time of Saul is coming to an end in the Church of Jesus Christ. The day of the ruler chosen by the will of the people because he fits the role and who operates in a controlling, manipulative, man-pleasing spirit is over. The time for David's army has arrived! Those who have an understanding of the times, who have been tested in battle, who have not raised their sword against their brothers--THE ANOINTED OF GOD are coming forth. (if you want to find them...look in the "Ziklags"...the nowhere, no name, out of the way places where victory is manifesting!)
