"My Children,

Be still and know that I am God. Do not look to the left or to the right, but keep your eyes fixed on Me. For did I not say that perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee because he trusts in Me?

As you fix your face on Mine and keep your thoughts on Me I will give you that peace that surpasses all understanding. If you will bring your requests, petitions, and concerns, I will give you peace as you bring Me thanksgiving for what I will do. Do not fret; it leads to evil doing.

Trust Me for did I not say that I know what My children have need of? Did I not say that your seed will not be begging for bread? Did I not say I would provide all that you need? Let your request be made known and as you thank Me I will give you that supernatural peace (rest) in your mind and heart.

What do you need? Friendships, a financial breakthrough, wisdom, self-control, healing, forgiveness. Rely on Me don’t try to do it by the arm of the flesh as Abram and Sari did. For they had become restless and took matters into their own hands which birthed "Ishmael" which means man of war.

This is the opposite of what I want for you. I want you to walk in peace, and that will come as you allow Me to lead you beside My still waters. Fret not, it only leads to evil doing."

Rest and Be Blest - Inspirational Word

Rest - (n.) Repose: a cessation from motion or labor: that on which anything rests or leans; a place where one may rest; a pause; (v.t.) To lay at rest; (v.i.) To cease from action. (a.) -ful soothing, peaceful, quiet.

Peaceful (a.) Free from war, tumult, or commotion; mild, undisturbed. Have you ever felt not at rest or had feelings of restlessness? I know I have, and I believe there are three areas that we can lose our rest in- body, soul, and spirit.

In the Body

In the body we can lose our rest by becoming full of stress. In fact about 90 percent of sicknesses are due to stress. We can easily become stressed if we over indulge in areas of spending, food, drugs, activities, etc.

How many times have you encountered a friend who asked, "How are you doing?" We usually give them the response, "I'm busy!" Did you know that the acronym for "busy" stands for B-Being, U-Under, S-Satan's, Y-Yoke?

I Peter 5:8 says, "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." Satan can get us so out of balance and busy with activities. We can do this by running to every church or social function, by running the kids to every practice or game or dance. He can get us busy working overtime when we have over spent our budget; then the next thing we know it's stressing us out. We can become stressed by overindulging in the areas of food or drugs. This will cause undue stress on our body, which will result in our not being able to rest when we need to.

In the Soul

We can lose our rest or peace when we dwell on negative emotions. Have you noticed that when you start to worry or get fearful, that if you dwell on it long enough it will enter into torment? What if you are experiencing anger and if not resolved quickly it can go into hatred or bitterness.

By the way "fear" stands for False Evidence Appearing Real. Satan will come to try to steal our peace (rest). If we dwell on it long enough it will become an open door for him to torment you in the very area you are afraid of. It is very important to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. (II Cor.10:5)

If you had a thief broken into your home and begin to take your silver, your electronic equipment, computer, jewelry, would you be at rest or remain peaceful? No, you would be upset. And what would you want to do? You would want to get him out of your home and get your belongings back.

Well, satan is a thief and he comes to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10). He comes to rob us of our peace, joy, contentment, etc. We need to immediately take satan captive when he comes to rob us of our peace (rest) through God's word. As we speak, hear, and meditate on God's word we will have more trust, faith, and peace.

Romans 10:17, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you."

And as we meditate on Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -think about such things."

In the Spirit

We will not have rest if we are not in fellowship with God, or know God on a personal level. We need to immediately take Satan captive when he comes to rob us of our peace (rest) through God's word. We can lose our rest (peace) if we disobeyed God.

Disobedience or sin separates us from God. It could be something as simple as when God told you to write that note of encouragement, or take that person out to lunch, or take that elderly neighbor a homemade loaf of bread.

God is rest (peace). We will not have rest if we are not in fellowship with God, or if we don't know God on a personal level. We will not have rest if we are not in the habit of practicing walking in His presence each day, throughout the day.

Blest

Blest (a.) happy; favored with blessings; hallowed.

Exodus 20:11, "For in six days the Lord made the heavens, earth, and sea, and everything in them, and rested the seventh day; so He blessed the Sabbath day and set it aside to rest.

Deuteronomy 28:1, "If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2. All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:"

The Lord then goes on to tell us in chapter 28 all the ways we'll be blessed when we obey God. So not only will we have rest or walk in peace, we will also receive blessings.

Prayer:

Lord forgive us when we have not obeyed you or trusted in You and because of that we have not been in rest. Please show us ways that the enemy is robbing us of our peace (rest) so that we may repent for giving place to the enemy. We want your blessings and we want to obey You and trust you so that we may have perfect peace (rest). In Jesus Name, Amen
