A Detention Camp

On 1-12-1994, I had a dream in which the Lord told me to go and anoint a detention camp. It was to be a place where many Christians would suffer in their bodies putting an end to sin (I Peter 4:1,NIV). After anointing the camp, I ran away as fast as I could. The only part I saw in the dream was me looking down upon myself running down a path away from the camp. So I have no idea what the camp looked like or where in the camp I did the anointing.

This Dream brings to mind II Kings 9 where "Elisha summoned a man from the company of the prophets" to go and anoint Jehu King of Israel. The prophet was to anoint Jehu in an inner room, then open the door and run. While the prophet was anointing Jehu, he also told Jehu he was to destroy the house of Ahab (which had become a festering evil in Israel. This was the means by which Baal worship had entered Israel--primarily through Arab's wife Jezebel). Jehu didn't waste any time in accomplishing what God wanted him to do. He was rewarded by having a descendant on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.

There are at least two ways to interpret this dream. One is to see it as a spiritual prison God puts Christians in until the desperation level is high enough so the Lord is sought with all their hearts and they repent of their ways. This could also include experiences such as Job who had to go through much suffering in his body before he understood how self-righteous he was.

The second interpretation of the dream involves looking at it literally. And if the similarities in the two anointings are any indication, the severity and harshness of an experience in a detention camp could be to the extreme. Certainly, the horrors of "The Holocaust" supports that.

But what is the difference in anointing a person or an inanimate object? Probably not much. Anointing a detention camp is anointing where the judgment takes place. Whereas, the anointing of Jehu sent him out to different places.

On October 24, 1999, Public Radio reported that there are 10s of thousands of people in federal prisons on drug charges and the federal courts don't need evidence to put them there. They interviewed a woman who was sentenced for nineteen years, which Public Radio seemed to think she was innocent, and not the least involved in drugs. There is a program the government has, that if a person has a drug charge against them, the sentence can be reduced if they turn someone else in. So there is an obvious advantage in turning in a name--guilty or not.

A senator was interviewed on this same newscast that voted for this law. He said he really didn't look into it very much--just trusted that how the senate voted would be right.

On November 30, 1999, Public Radio also reported there are people in prison on secret charges. This is supposed to be a way to combat terrorism.

The Chinese Christians have been praying for years now that the Christians in The United States would come under persecution. They say our tremendous amount of material things has made us soft. And they are no doubt right. With our criminal system developing the way it is, perhaps their prayers and this dream are starting to be answered.
