SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from or where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit. John 3:8 WORDS FROM THE LORD TO MARSHA BURNS:

August 7, 1998: Do you hear the voices of the prophets? Do you heed the warnings of the watchmen? I have chosen them and set them in places to sound the alarm to prepare you for battle, that you might overcome the darkness that assails you. Do not allow the darkness to overtake you.

Romans 13:12-14, "The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in licentiousness and lewdness, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts." August 6, 1998: Behold, I call you, My people to cut off the enemy of your souls as you would cut the head off a serpent. The enemy seeks to distract and cut you off from the life that sustains you. You must do this by casting down vain imaginations that would lead you to destruction. I am calling you to be more focused, for I am calling you higher. You are still too concerned about your own well-being and your own circumstances.

Change! I say, there will be changes that must take place in your lives so that My purposes will be fulfilled. Haven't I said that you have a hope and a future? And yet, you flounder because of the futility in your own minds. And, I also say to you that some of you sense and feel change and new direction much the same as you sniff the air for a change in seasons. You know it is coming and you are eager to do your part, and I say, even more than your part for you are in danger of stepping out ahead of Me and not waiting for My timing and My leading. I tell you to beware of making your plans an idol, for this too is a distraction.

Have you put your hand to the plow? Have you made yourselves available as laborers in the harvest? Then, I say don't look back either. For if you look back, you may be tempted to go back. So, refrain from looking ahead or behind, keep your gaze fixed on Me, for I will surely lead and guide and direct every step to fulfill My plans and purposes in the earth, and you are a vital part of My plan. Release yourselves in obedience to Me.

"Then the Lord said to me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear the words of the covenant and do them. For I earnestly exhorted your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, until this day, rising early and exhorting, saying, Obey My voice." (Jeremiah 11:6-7) August 5, 1998: Look back, think, and realize that what I have spoken to you is coming to pass. I have indeed set a standard among you and am requiring that what you build be according to My word and be straight according to the plumbline. Haven't I said that I would move you to places of greater effectiveness in My kingdom and bring you higher? Look, and be amazed at what I have already done. Look again, and be in awe of what I am about to do, for I say that what you realize at this moment by looking back is only a small sample of what is ahead. But, I say, don't get distracted by the work I have performed or what you think you know is coming. Rather, rejoice that My word is true and that I am doing a great and mighty work among My people. Then, continue to seek My face.

August 4, 1998: Have I not already told you that the cloud was lifting and going to move and that I was bringing you higher? I have done as I said I would do! Look back. Haven't I wrought changes in your lives in these past months? Now, I will establish you here in this new (spiritual) place. I have repositioned you and brought you by way of transition onto higher ground. Look and see. The view is more spectacular and the atmosphere is less polluted. This new height will bring greater vision and clearer perceptions. Be sensitive to My Spirit!

August 3, 1998: Be strong. Stand firm. I desire that you be people of integrity, walking in honesty, abiding in the light. Let there be no darkness among you and in you. I am turning the light on hidden things in your hearts -- secret motives, dark places of jealousy and pride. As I illuminate those places, quickly release them to Me. Do not harbor these things in your hearts. Let me cleanse you and create in you a clean heart.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead in the way everlasting." (Psalm 139:23-24) Bill and Marsha Burns
