But Lord, You Promised
Steve Shultz

You've said to me, "But Lord, you promised me the desires of my heart if I would delight myself in You! Where is the fulfillment of that promise?"

And I answer you that---Yes, that is what I promised you and I will keep my promise but there is a process that you have not fully understood. I ask you to look around and see the current prosperity of the wicked. What do you say of that? How do you respond to that? Are you in anguish, not understanding the reason? Do you watch the news and say, "Why doesn't God do something? Why is he so patient with the wicked? When will he hurry up and take care of the wicked. Why does He wait?"

When I gave you this promise [Psalms 37] I said other things as well. The Psalmist was looking around at the prosperity of the wicked. And I said to him, "Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away."

Each person I am doing a deep work in must learn to stand and watch the wicked prosper. And while so doing, I ask each of them to do one thing: DO NOT FRET! I told the Psalmist, "Do not fret about the prosperity of the wicked."

But rather, "Delight yourself in me," even as the wicked prosper in your presence and in your sight--Delight yourself in me and DO NOT FRET, for to fret leads only to evil. Many are waiting for my promise to be fulfilled in their life, yet they will not trust me regarding the wicked. Rest in me, and cease from fretting over the prosperity of the wicked.

I cannot move forward in your life--to the degree I would desire-- until your put your delight in Me-- even while evil prospers all around you. To do this forces you to put your eyes on Me alone and not the circumstances upon which the enemy would have you focus.

Throughout history, I have chosen to reveal myself at times when the most evil surrounded those who called upon my name. Why should this time be any different. I have decreed the end to occur the same way; "When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

So I say, When evil appears to abound in high places--Do not fret. When those who are unscrupulous around you seem to endlessly prosper--Do not fret. When those who persecute the Church seem to receive my blessing as a reward--Do not fret. And when standing for righteousness, you are persecuted and ridiculed--Do not fret. Only delight yourself in Me DURING THIS TIME and I WILL give to you the most heartfelt desires of your heart.
